Low voltage cutoff and sag

Hi all, I am running a 9C kit from eBikes.ca with a 36v/8aH NiCad. The site states a recommended 1v per cell as the low voltage cutoff to prevent cell damage, that would be 30v. With the cycle analyst showing around 6aH discharge, the pack runs around 32-33v with no load. Running level, sags down a ...

Re: Big Green

1. did you know that when you drive your gas guzzler, you get the benefit, and everyone else gets the pollution? 2. etc. My point is, the negative consequences of individual decisions are often borne by people who get no benefit from them. In the cases you chose, it is obvious because there is a dir...

Re: Breakfast with a Lycra

As a fit recreational/commuter cyclist new to eBikes, I can say my 9C kit is only slightly faster than I was before I converted it, and slightly slower than me on the road bike. The real roadies here in Victoria are faster than my legal eBike at least. Any competetive cyclist can average over 40kph ...

Re: Donor Bike - Aluminum frame

I'm running a 9c front kit on an aluminum KHS Alite frame - on a heavy cromo front fork. I have no issues. The headset is intended for some fairly significant stresses on a mountain bike, so I'm confident on that account.

Re: Do you ever feel like 2nd class citizens on your ebike?

I have always felt superior to people in cars while riding my bike. Especially back in university when I would show up at the top of the hill (SFU in Van BC) after 250m of hill climbing in the rain. Granted, the superior feeling is not really to be encouraged, but it was part of the motivation to ke...

Re: I don't think my current bike is fast enough

One more vote for caution with respect to speed/bikes. 30Mph is approximately the top speed that the world's fastest riders (think Lance) do on road bikes (more downhill). This is on professionally tuned, top end, 15 lb bikes with elite athletes at the helm on a closed course, and it is still somewh...

Re: Help on the hills

Johnny, 4 weeks ago I purchased a nine Continents Kit with NiCad 8Ah 36V pack, 2Ah charger and 20 amp controller from eBikes. In my case, it was for pulling toddler and trailer (total 75 lbs) up and down a hilly commute and then to my office job with no shower. I am a commuter cyclist for over 20 ye...
