Re: MTB 600w BB build

What would I do with the third small wire? I am pretty sure it's a ground, so where would I attach it to? It's the logic power line. I honestly have no idea why manufacturers put them there (because the low voltage side is designed to run off the rated nominal pack voltage of the controller), but i...

Re: MTB 600w BB build

It's that time again folks, I just ordered connectors blocks for my milwaukee packs, and the packs themselves will be ordered tomorrow. I do have a(nother) question though, I am wanting to change over all my connections to Anderson Powerpoles for ease if disconnection, and less resistance. I am not ...

Re: MTB 600w BB build

If I wire them in 3 sets of 2p, when I charge, will be sure to balance the cells (like if one of the packs was more discharged than the other for some reason)? And also, will it just increase the charging time by a factor of two? (that is what i'm expecting). Sorry, I know a bit about electronics, b...

Re: MTB 600w BB build

I have another question now after thinking about it for quite some time... I am wanting to be able to charge all my batteries at once. I know that Milwaukee has a 3 pack charger, and i'd like to try and charge all 6 of my packs from the one charger. I am wondering how some of you would go about doin...

MTB 600w BB build

Well it's been almost a month since I started looking into building an ebike, and made my first thread on here to get the needed info. The original thread can be found here: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3686 Since starting that thread, i've gathered some of the needed par...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

I was thinking the spring was too hard, i'll check what the rating on mine is in the morning. Eventually I may look into replacing it with a higher quality, lower weight shock. But for now it will work just fine, considering my motor hasn't even come in yet.

Oh oh oh, lol yeah, that can be changed later. All I care about now is getting it working, after that I can fine tune it to my liking.

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

Here are the pictures of the bike I picked up! I got all the parts other than my batteries ordered, all the extras needed i'll just pick up at local bike shops or hardware stores.

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

Just wanted to update ya all, I picked up a Schwinn S-60 DSX at Target today for $250. I've been riding it around for a couple hours now, and like it a lot. I'll be ordering my motor, ESC, and throttle tonight, and will keep you all updated on my progress. Pictures of the new bike will come in the m...

Ohh I found what you were talking about!!! link: http://powerpackmotors.com/POWERPACKMOTORinfoandphotopage.html I am unsure if you are acquainted with the controller I selected, but I want to know if it should work with this motor or not. link to controller: http://cgi.ebay.com/48V-600W-brushless-co...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

Fechter, would that BMC motor I linked to be the one I want? If not, where could I find the right one? I actually don't know if it's even brushless... If it is brushless, would it work with the controller I wish to use? If not, what controllers would be compadible? Grr these people need to provide m...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

I understand that the batteries are what is going to give an electric motor it's power, however, I do not quite understand what would happen if I were to run a lower rated voltage motor, and run it at higher. Would it just burn out quickly, would the RPM go way up, or would it just possess more torq...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

Thanks for the advice on a bike, i'll take a look at it :D. However, from what I read here , the controller seems to surprisingly be pretty high quality, with the ability to be easily upgraded to handle much higher voltage and amperage. Secondly, where can I buy the parts I will need for a freewheel...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

Okay, i've got a few of the needed parts together. I'll post the list here, and will need some help finding the remaining parts. Milwaukee 48-11-2830 V28 Lithium-Ion Battery-Pack $84.85 6 $509.10 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009F5E5M/ref=pd_cp_hi_1?pf_rd_p=277661601&pf_rd_s=center-41&p...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

...are you sure? You'd be surprised. Unless it has 20+hp, you can build an electric that will smoke it. Especially at low speeds or drag race sort of conditions, since the electric motor can go from a dead stop to full torque instantaneously. Yup, it's a 40hp crf250. 0-65 (top speed limited by gear...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

I am starting to like the sound of the Milwaukee packs. They offer more storage space per cell for a cheaper price than the Dewalt pack. Is the charging C rate really going to be a problem? The biggest charger I could find for this type of battery (at a reasonable price) was 2A. At that rate, it wou...

Re: Interested in building an e-bike

I didn't expect such a thorough reply so quickly! :) Okay, for the power question, I do not live by Florida's hill, so that is not a concern hahaha... However, speed is something I could use since everything is so far apart by me. I am thinking an average assisted cruising speed of between 25-35 mph...

Interested in building an e-bike

I have been kicking around the idea of building an e-bike for quite some time now, and i've been doing some heavy research over the past few days on this forum (best i've been to and why I am asking here) and others. I would like to start out by saying that I live in Florida, and it is pretty much a...
