Looks very well built and I really like the "green electric" on the hub motor :thumb:

Re: Low Speed, High Torque Hub Motor?

I'm working on a project where I need a hub motor for very low speeds. The contraption should preferably use bicycle tires, for example 26". The speeds required are about 0-6 km/h. The low speed and high torque hub motor combination isn't a problem. But in a 26" bicycle wheel/tire is stra...

Re: EXTREMO - Scratch built 7kW billet frame scooter

That's much less than it appeared.
And it will be fairly easy to fine tune later on if necessary. It's a fine balance between responsive steering at low speeds and stability at top speed. Again: great project and I hope you will update this thread with your progress.

Re: EXTREMO - Scratch built 7kW billet frame scooter

Nice project :thumb: But isn't the trail too long/large for a scooter like this? It seems better to lengthen the front swingarm to get the axle at least on the steering axes. Or are you're dimensions/geometry based on a special kind of design? Trail too large.png Just an observation. Good luck and e...

Re: Racing go kart

Me not understanding karting chassis... You do not seem to understand how a Kart chassis works. Couldnt have said it better myself Sorry and thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression that the inner rear tire was alway scrubbing in corners and that the dual motor set up could provide a...

Look at jonescg's pouch pack build thread:

I think his way of bolting the tabs together will draw out heat very well. Maybe contact him to discus and learn from him?

Re: Racing go kart

Great idea! The dual motor set up could be a serious advantage in tight corners if you're able to split the the rear axle in the middle. So it can act like a limited slip differential where the inner tire can have a lower speed than the outside tire. That will make cornering easier and faster and wi...

Then you need higher voltage. The Leaf motor can output 4kW. What speed are you going now?

This video shows very clear that it takes much more energy input than you can recoup. If you watch till the end you'll see him compare the efficiency of this mechanical set up (15%) with his previous electric bike with regenerative braking (15.7%).

Re: Your Creation's Before & After Pics

Lol ha please don’t scare me like that, I don't want to end up like this kid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9manM-f-AdY I descend slowly with variable regen engaged. If controller dies I would instantly know it before speed builds up. I had V brakes but didn’t like/use them so removed. Need to wo...

Yeah no brakes lol, just regen and my feet. I only like to punish it up hills anyways.

Then going downhill with the controller shutting off (or dying) and no regen will be VERY interesting...
