Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Regarding the hardware calibration method that is described in the Wiki, what exactly do you calibrate when you perform this method? The scale of the sensor? I have 2 bikes with the tsdz2, and on my main bike the difference between right and left pedal is big. Its not a problem when I'm up to a cert...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I installed the OSF on my FS bike yesterday, and found after trying to calibrate the torque sensor that right and left pedal is really different. When calibrating with the right pedal I got 80 range and 87 step, and the left one I got 120 range and 56 step. Both of the methods resulted in waaaay to ...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

So I tried the advanced torque and cadence setup today, and the calibration went smoothly just like described in the manual. However, when setring the cadence sensor in advanced, the motor got quite laggy, and would not keep up at all above 80-90 rpm. I ended up with a value of 362, and tried it two...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Just snapped an axle at 540kms. Anyone know where to buy just an axle by itself or the cheapest place to get a torque sensor unit? https://www.eco-ebike.com/collections/tsdz2-accessories-parts/products/axle-replacement-for-tsdz2-stock-for-68-73mm-bottom-brackets Is that a chain guide on your bike? ...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Hi. I have my tsdz2 and vlcd5 on its way from Germany. Is there a guide on how to install the firmware on a VLCD5? The Wiki in the github explains it quite good: https://github.com/emmebrusa/TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-1/wiki There is no need to flash the display for this version, only the controller. Just c...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

I had the same problem. I got around it by simply copying the ST Microelectroncs folder in its entirety, in the C:\Program (86) directory to C:\ and i seemed to work from there on. Well, that worked! Thanks! Im quite blown away how smooth this firmware is compared to stock, even without touching th...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Im trying to get the flashing software to work now but I had some problems installing ST Tools. It woul not install directly to C: drive it kept popping up errors, so I just made a folder named tsdz2. I have edited the flash.bat file so it points to that folder. But I am still getting this error lik...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Has anyone tried setting up this motor as direct drive with no freewheel? Does the planetary gears take the load when it is applied the "wrong way"? I have a cyclone 3000w laying around here that I am considering putting on a small kids ATV, so no need for freewheel in that case.

Hi guys Im waiting impatiently for my stlink-adapter, and try to read as much as possible to understand the OSF. One thing I dont really catch, is what exactly EMTB mode is. Re: KTM 200 exc goes electric

I'm running a 10T and 64T (tops out at 80-something kmh with field weakening, enough for a ATV that was 50cc and topped out at 45). Must be the dirty environment as you say, the chain lives much more protected between 2 rear tires than on a dirtbike. An o-ring chain should do a better job there. How...

What kind of chain are you running? 428? Im running the same controller/motor in an ATV and installed the cheapest biltema 428 chain as a temporary solution (I see your biltema sealer on a picture, so I guess youre from Scandinavia somewhere :) ). To my big surprise it is almost the exact same tensi...

For the last question you normally have to look in the original diplay manual. I don't have a vlcd6, but if I read that manua l, the lights button is "long press down" Ouch, Dont know how I have managed to believe it was power+down for 2 seconds to turn on and off backlight. It was always...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Hi First off - excuse my noobness, I am just starting to look into this. I have a TSDZ2 on a MTB I use for trail riding, and I like it very much. I have the VLCD6 display, and I would like to keep it because I like the simplicity of it. Two things I am missing from my TSDZ2 is assistance when the pe...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

So - does this mean I can increase the assist up to ~120rpm on a 36V motor running on a 36V battery (switching to a 48V or 52V not an option for me)? Might have to try this if that is the case, the ~90rpm limit is the biggest issue with the stock firmware for me...

Are you on stock firmware, and which display do you have? With the vlcd5 and vlcd6 display and stock firmware I dont think you can turn the speed limit off, and the max setting is 45kmh. Are you sure you are setting the correct parameter? I dont think the speed sensor does anything else than cut the...

Re: Tongsheng tsdz2 and 99.9 speedo fault

The stock firmware cuts power at 25 or 45 kmh (configurable), so at 99kmh it will not provide any assistance. I have had this problem and it turned out the magnet on the spokes was too close to the sensor. Just play with the distance between sensor and magnet and see if it goes away, that was all I ...

Re: E Bike Kit with torque sensor like Yamaha Bosch etc

Thanks a lot for sharing all that info, DogDipstick. Its nice to see there are other options than tsdz2 if you want homebuilt and torque sensing. Not that there is anything wrong with the tsdz2, other than some fitment issues on modern full suspension bikes.
