Re: A2B Metro (Gen 1) Restoration and Upgrade

Nice, make me one, make me one! I’m guessing this is not your first gig at bikes. Whats the amp rating? You still have room for a bms? I think the stock motor is like 9-10kg so it would only be a 3kg weight increase. QS205 for the win! 4T At 820RPM and the 3t winding @650 rpm…wrong way round possibl...

Re: A2B Metro (Gen 1) Restoration and Upgrade

Very impressive work,I gave up trying to put batteries in there and used the space for a SPY Motorcycle Alarm , a horn and 12v step-down. Keep us updated.

Re: Sabvoton 72v running on 12s

Hello, just a heads up so that I don't put anyone of 12s battery. I solved this problem, bike is now fast. It was a software/user issue. There seems to be diffrent versions of the programming software. The software I was using had limited programming options. IMG_2795-2.jpg The new software: Where i...

Re: SVMC7280 - Low amps?

OMG!!! I take back everything I said. What an idiot, I had the wrong bloody software downloaded!!! There was a 50a current limit preset all along, I've been missing out!!! Sorry for the slight topic division, but it might be good to warn others who don't get the bluetooth. Bike is now a beast, even ...

Re: SVMC7280 - Low amps?

Maybe not... minde28383 noted that ‘’Anyways this ''limit dc current'' field only takes effect only when your battery sags bellow ''dc current limit voltage'' so don't worry about this field. Be happy that such field is and takes effect when your battery goes down. You still can ride home and don't ...

Re: SVMC7280 - Low amps?

Awesome! I use a laptop to program my Sabvoton and have not seen it on. Maybe that's why I was getting current limits with lower voltages. I need BLUETOOTH!

Have you got a picture of the front? What are your colours for things like throttle and brakes? I have had 4 sabvonton, one had blue as ignition.

Sabvoton 72150 charging issue (Hall Fault)

Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me. It took me a while to figure out what was causing my random hall issues. I thought I might have faulty motor. When I charge my Lipo battery whilst it’s connected to the controller the controller tends to go into hall, not every time, but most of the t...

Re: SVMC7280 - Low amps?

Ok fair enough, yes it's a bit bigger. My theory still is that Sabvotons don't like low voltages. Even though they state 48-72v, I feel this is a marketing game to get more customers. It's really a 72v controller. You need to run it as close to that as possible or it will current limit. You will acc...

Re: SVMC7280 - Low amps?

Can I ask why you went for the SVMC7280? Based on Aliexpress the 72150 is only like an extra £20? Anyway I think you may need more voltage. I tried to run my 72150 on (12s) and it started current limiting big time. 18s is where the fun starts. I'm in the process of going to the full 72 (20s).

Re: Small backup motor controllers.

My stupid sabvoton left me stranded 32 miles from home yesterday with a random hall fault error. Woke up this morning to a fully functioning bike.I would like a back controller. Can it be permanently installed with the phase wires and throttle outs in parallel? As long I power on at a time I wouldn'...

Nice idea, need to some research. Are there any with really long wireless range? Could be good for security. You can keep your eyes on the bike while popping in shop.

Re: Sabvoton 72v running on 12s

Hello yes I do have another 18s packs and it runs very well on that. My question was since the controller is rated for 72v (20s) does it start current limiting anything below that. I'm thinking maybe with my 18s pack, I'm not getting the most of out of the controller. Trying to decide whether adding...

Re: Sabvoton 72v running on 12s

It's near enough maxed out, 200A battery current, 450A phase current, 80A field weakening, 35~70C Lipo with no BMS = Pants. It must be going into some kind of limp mode. What is the most accurate/cheapest way to test current?

Sabvoton 72v running on 12s

Hello, I have a quick question. I have (QS205) (20inch) (3t) + Sabvoton 150 (200 unlocked). For the last two weeks I have been running it on 12s lipo and it pants. Feels like 250w bike. The acceleration is non existent, it can't climb at speed, massively slows down. Top speed is a mere 25mph. I feel...

Re: A2B triangle battery box

Why, thank you! This bike is really no longer an A2B. It’s got a bigger motor, controller and total of 2.5kWh lipos. Too much for my uses but gives the bike better stability and balance at higher speed. But I’ve only done one range test pedaling at around 18mph managed about 60 miles. Could have pro...

Lol, yeah I failed with triangle box. Went with a cheap alternative for the time being. Used an old heli suitcase strapped down with a ratchet belt. Funtional and easy to remove, but not pretty. I plan to do it right once the world is back to normal.

Re: A2B Metro issues

Hmm, I can’t remember the wiring myself, it’s been a while. The bike doesn't use any chassis grounds. But if your bike has no pedelec on the bike crank then it Is very unlikely to be the cause. Real shame you are experiencing this with a brand-new metro. How was it stored? It could also be a faulty ...
