the baudrate will probably be the same. i think my controller has a empty spot on the PCB for a rs485 converter chip.
Cool! I just got a KK 232->485 DB9 converter that should do the trick.

Re: Bluetooth dongle for ebike - BAFANG, Kunteng, KingMeter

Let’s get some tech info; how exactly are you going to achieve making this device “compatible with most DIY”?

Is it RS232, RS485? CAN? What’s the Bluetooth module, just a HC-05? How are you going to work with iPhone iOS compatibility?

Re: Help with Sabvoton and USB ($20 PayPal reward!)

Also, do you think the baudrate is still 19200 even though it’s RS485? Any way to test for output baudrate?

Re: Help with Sabvoton and USB ($20 PayPal reward!)

have you tried to flip the green and white wire? if it is rs485 you will need a other converter. can you open up the controller to check if there is a rs485 converter chip? http://ebike.nexun.pl/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/SSC.pdf According to the spec sheet, it is indeed RS485. Pretty funny how the...

Re: Help with Sabvoton and USB ($20 PayPal reward!)

https://imgur.com/gallery/Kw3MZ Here’s a look at what I’m dealing with. I jumped the ground to the black throttle wire. That seemed to close the circuit up. Still no RX on the PC side. Rx/Tx stick around 3v. Red is 5v. Tried using the HC-05 module and also my USB to TTL. Tried setting baudrate to 19...

Re: Help with Sabvoton and USB ($20 PayPal reward!)

you can check the ground connection from the "USB" connector to the plug on the sabvoton side. the ground connection connects to pin 1. 5 volt is on pin 2 . USB white is on pin 7. USB yellow is on pin 6 if there is a brake in the ground line, you can use any other ground wire. from the throttle con...

Re: Help setting up Sabvoton and QS-205

Thanks for all the advice, guys! Still can't make it communicate with the motor. Verified the ports, as suggested by Manny - that's all being setup correctly. It just doesn't connect. Will try with the resistor workaround this weekend. I have a feeling the controller is bad. Any ideas where one can...

Sabvoton SSC96100 - New, w/ CA3-DP harness & shunt

$180 + shipping. Never used. I don't have the patience to set this one up.

If you do have the patience, you'll have an excellent controller.

Location of the Sab' is in Central California. Pickup available or can meet someone half way if reasonable.

Pics coming soon, but it's what you'd expect.

Re: Sabvoton MQCON review and documents

I hooked up my MQCON today and couldn't get it to turn on. No red LED, nothing. If I disconnected the hall sensors, it would flash a red LED 13 (or 12, I forget) times. But once I reconnect the hall sensor, back to doing nothing.

What's going on here?

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Good news on the halls! If you have the skills, you might test diode D2 and either replace it or just jumper it with a solder blob without trying to remove it. If you don't have the skills, this isn't a good place to learn since a foul up may take options with Grin off the table - an email to them ...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I put my multimeter on my hall wires – G - 0.06 to 2.5v + depending on wheel movement Y - 5v to 2.5v - depending on wheel movement B - 0-0.08v The numbers I provided were actually a result of the probing method. I spun the wheel and jumped the yellow to black and observed no change in the arrow. Th...

Thanks for the kind words - glad you find the posts helpful :D The values you report for the halls suggest all three are toast. But - this may instead be a matter of test technique. If you search ES or go to the ebikes.ca site under 'Learn'/'Troubleshooting' you will find some help on proper proced...

... the speed sensor stopped working.... Any updates? I you have a viable alternating hi/lo signal on the Speed input and are getting no speed reading, I afraid you may have shot phase voltage into the CA and smoked something. There's only a diode (D2) between the SPD input and the processor. The d...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

The speedometer output reading has stopped working on my Cycle Analyst, and I'm trying to track down how to fix it. This is actually a CA 2.4, but it's relatively new, so I suspect the board layout is similar to a CA3. Recently I had an issue where the side plate rubbed the housing off of a phase w...

If you take the money out of your lottery tickets budget, I’d say chances are better. This simple p...
