Re: Well, it finally happened.......

If that's the governmental healthcare structure they chose, then yeah, that's how it works. Though I do understand your point, where exactly does it end? Mandate PPE, ban soda, alcohol, etc? Slippery slope. Money doesn't grow on trees. Whether it is government or private I pay one way or another an...

I vote for freedom, personally. It's your head, do what you want with it.
Your choices can have much broader implications.

Should others have to pay for your freedom when you make insurance, disability or welfare claims?

Unfortunately, the ignore feature does not include quoted text. It is hard to avoid the mouth breathing troll derailing threads.

I hear there's a migration to xenforo platform. Sooner the better. Ignore works as it should.

Re: E-bike Achilles heel?

Bicycle theft is as much a business and not exclusive to addicts and homeless. First post didn't show up, so here goes. Make a lot of noise and irritate the thief. I had a scoundrel rifle through my pannier bag and he ran like crazy when the alarm went off. Had a video from the store, but, well, fac...

Re: trunk mounted bike carry racks

1up is a gold standard for bike carriers. I'm not sure they make trunk mount though. They are usually hitch or roof mount. I'd try to talk you out of trunk mount as they are the least secure/stable.

I've had a couple of weeks off and on my own. I didn't want to do this, but I did... I put together wireless interface for Garmin sensors and Powertap power meter (fancy torque sensor) plus throttle, aux pot and ebrake to CA (now mounted on the trailer) so I can clean up my bike with no wires to pus...

Re: Help decide between All-Axle and GMAC

The Bafang G311, G310 I mentioned is a bad choice for going fast, it has 11:1 gear reduction and can throw magnets at high speed. Something you read? That is incomplete and misleading. These motors are happy with 26" and 32kph.. Care is needed asking more than rated 250W from them or soft peda...

Just to clarify, with all things being equal in ebike applications, an 8T using a 36V battery would be similar to a 10T in a 48V battery?
Yes.

Re: Help decide between All-Axle and GMAC

The difference between temperature models for 36V and 48V set ups being discussed are negligble... A couple of degrees across the speed range at a given power level. I assume Grin has modelled their products accurately. https://ebikes.ca/tools/simulator.html?motor=GMAC8T&batt=B3617_35E&cont=...

Re: Help decide between All-Axle and GMAC

Makes sense. Thanks. I would consider the 8T over the 10T for sure. I'd select 8T GMAC at 36V you selected. It'll better low end torque than DD. It is good to have a motor a little faster than what you'd have at rated voltage. Wheel RPM is proportional to voltage. You want about 25% margin to maint...

A very good point was made a pushbike requires you wear a helmet. Roger bannister broke the 3 minute mile on foot and he had on as little as possible to aid his cooling didnt see a helmet on him. Its back to risk assessments again and the area within the risk is conducted, common trend in wales now...

Car culture... This youtube channel highlights some of the problems.

It should not be viewed as America bashing.

Similar problems exist in Australia, but drivers are usually better disciplined.

I think it would be better to have the programming connector either in the charger case or between charger and XLR.

None of this answers your original question.

Re: The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

I understand your point about importing. Those two parts cost about $100 to Australia. Most of it freight. That is why I give it some thought and buy everything at the same time. Cables don't cost any more to ship when they are in the box with the charger.

Re: Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

Yes, the display is almost irrelevant from my POV. Someone has proposed a bluetooth connector to a phone app, that would be a nice add-on. That would be nice, but I'd be more interested in ANT+/BLE sensor addon so I can use my fancy wireless sensors and power meter hub and turn it into a true pedel...

Re: The Cycle Satiator, universal charger for the enthusiasts

Not an answer, but...

USB-TTL reads in stock. $14 too expensive when it saves these sorts of problems?

It is easy to build profiles directly on the satiator if you read the manual. One battery... maybe two or three profiles. Set and forget. No cable required... ever!
