Re: New Electric Bike Prototype: Tempus T1: Taking Pre-order

Pricetag on "Shop" page for CRT1 after May 31st is 3 399$, so expect this as final price.

(no I don't work with them, I got baited by the pre order deposit amount  )

Re: Advice on a simple and fast 8S charger

Thank you for the advice but it is listed for 6S max, I need 8S :/

Actually I need more of a PSU type charger because I'm making my own charging dock with integrated BMS.

Advice on a simple and fast 8S charger

Hi guys, long time no see ! :D I'm looking for a good charger capable to quick charge a pack (33.6V / 6Ah) made of 8S4P li-ions. Cells charging specs are standard 750mAh, quick charge 4amps max. I know the Cycle satiator has been out for years rocking it but I look for something more affordable and ...

Hi Ackmaniac,

Welcome to the forum! You do a great work on the VESC tool and monitoring  I've been following your progress on the "watt mode" control and "Cruise control" features, is it also available in the app?

Re: AC Induction outrunners?

MO2O5LlO86c It's been done. It works. Tricky to get a lightweight rotor setup and not have lots of slip losses. This! That's what made me think about AC motors. IMHO this guy has already done a nice job with his mods yet he keeps saying (he posted on a forum I don't find the thread) that it is very...

AC Induction outrunners?

Hi guys :D I've been wondering lately why there is no tiny AC outrunners available. Though the efficiency drops a bit compared to DC, you can easily feed more power through them and get away with the heat (you're limited only by the copper tolerance). A downside is, it really may be a hot pot compar...

Re: OSHW TO247 IGBT watercooled laminated half-bridge

If you can cut down costs and maybe build a 150V 200A you'd walk straight into e-bike and e-scooter (big model) territory. Tha'd be huge plus.

there is also a big demand for 75V 300A VESC based controller!

Why not go ahead and ask Hummina directly? Plus his motors are dope! Carvon is LEVer motors, ask him too! Sometimes his mailbox plays jokes on him. Try through the forum!

Re: yet another solderless DIY battery pack via NIB's

I think I've posted about it before but why not use copper strips or wires glued on isolated nibs (ex: nibs enrobed with slim silicon sleeves or a rigid high temp polymer)? Main source of heat and current limit with no solder joints is how much of current goes through the magnets or how close the wa...

Re: Production vs custom e-board

Well I think the GT is very sleek... Now for 2000$ including shipping and considering I'd build a board instead of skates .. I'd make a crazy setup for myself and I doubt it would be less effective than production boards. Original too at this price point. Man O'War from Jellyboard as base, carbon fi...

Re: 3.2KW / 6KW inline skates (updated August 13th 2016)

I feel you there, lighter is better. It is difficult to determine when a skate becomes heavy, for example I started skating seriously with skates weighing 4.4 lbs each, then since the Doop I must be more or less at 3.8 lbs each. My current 1600W setup is at 5.5lbs and 3200W at 5.9lbs, so I remain so...

It's alright I didn't take it on defensive POV, you've always been helpful with me :P I'll pm you the structure pics. Eventually when you ride, bearings get hot from friction but there is plastic between a regular inline wheel rubber and the bearing, and thermal conduction of the plastic is not very...

Keep going chinyp, I know what it is to wait for a long time, it is killing inside but keep going! Well Hummi we have and don't have same problems at the same time. For example I don't need to think about heat deteriorating my wheels because there is no direct contact with the motors, so there won't...

Re: 3.2KW / 6KW inline skates (updated August 13th 2016)

The motor is 50mm and stator is 40mm diameter, 20mm wide! It is very small but can fit straight into 84mm wheels which are very accessible (one step up from 80mm Freestyle wheels and one step down from fitness / endurance wheels) ; it also brings the round profile Seba Street Invaders in the game. S...

Hi guys, thanks for the replies and suggestions! [...] Agree, 18650 are indeed more developed, but I had an idea to place as much batteries in the steerer tube, and then the 26650 format fits better. But it is a quite distinct difference in power density and max current, hmmm I need to think about ...
