Re: Super Capacitors for "Burst Mode"?

What about supercapacitors for just a 5 sec burst. I was just brainstorming about building a really fast E motor scooter. A big QS motor that can handle 30kw peak in the rear and one in the front. 2 big controllers, a simple 4kwh 100v 18650 pack for cruising around town at max 8kw of power. So 60kw...

Re: Ebike Battery stored for a long tome

Hmm ?..... its a shame... 12 miles on used 24v SLAs was not a bad result ( dependig on the Ah rating , and your ride style etc)
But Lead is best forgotten anyway.
I would plan for 36 v Li to give you more capacity, range and speed.

heavy haul Electric truck trials in Australia.

Not waiting for Tesla or Nikola, ..an Aussie company “JANUS Electric ” has developed an alternative approach to the EV Truck issue. They offer an “EV.Conversion” for existing Diesel trucks using a 350kW motor and 4-600 kWh “swappable” battery pack together with a proposed “Battery Change Station” ne...

Re: Hydrogen Drive - We Made the Battery Obsolete

Our system is a pressure vessel. It can safely store 600lb of hydrogen and oxygen gas, but we only store up to 300lb. We always had an air gap at the top of our electrolysis system and we had always been able to pressurize the system - in the early days they would run at 10-25lb of pressure but the...

Thank you for asking! Yes I do believe we are more efficient and less expensive. I want to provide as much information as I can to help explain. The only moving part in our power system is a free piston. The electrolysis chamber is on board and has no rare earth materials, over 90% is recyclable. W...

Re: T bucker "golf cart"

Do you have any hills or significant slopes, driveways, ramps, etc to negotiate ? I have no doubt that 1800w will move you down the road, but accelleration and climbing ability will be limited. If it were me, i would pick a more powerful motor ( 10+kW Etech /Agni etc) that can still run 48v, but giv...

How much energy needed to dig a hole on that scale ?
And what would be the energy source.. Wind ? (X),...Solar ?( NFC) !
Mars = Total waste of time, effort, and resources .!
Its just a cowards way of running away from the issues here on the one place we can survive.
Musk = NASA = Dik Heads !

Hmmm ?....shallow.......20 miles deep.. the ultimate oxymoron ?
Better make sure there are no “Green” activists in the colony who might object to landscape development on that scale !

Would be nice to live on a planet where only the most intelligent inhabit and leave this one behind.
You would not be “living on a planet” ..you would be living in a bubble / space suit, with your life totally in some one else’s hands.
What happened to that “Geodome” living experiment ?

Human Survival on Mars would be far more problematic than any conceivable issues on a post “climate crisis” Earth.
A Mars Colony would be totally dependent on artificial life support systems and energy sources.
There is a reason Life exists on Earth without NASA like efforts required to maintain it.

The 7 was a very different car to. The 6 using much revised chassis and better running gear
..from memory, that “C” registration suffix would make that a 1965 build vehicle....so not likely to have been in the earlier DM episodes.

The reason it would not work on a car is because you're only lightening the car in relation to going upward. Going forward the full weight of the car is still pushing back on you Yes, exactly,..... it is the difference between “weight”. (Due to gravity),.. and Mass ( due to Density ) Toyota recomme...

Yes, certainly a “Spinel short”. Can initiate a fire, ..but that would be isolated to a single cell without the “thermal runaway” effect of other close cells bursting into flame , despite no spinels ? The rapid explosive “Popping” of 18650 type cells in a pack fire is due to the heat transfer boilin...

No, not electrical drag, just mechanical. Having to spinup that (xx lbs) of motor armature to 4k+ rpm every time you accellerate , and even to keep it spinning is going to give significant drag. ..ever ridden one of those flywheel spin bikes in a gym ?.
