It's interesting reading about the "Dairy and red meat" sugar called Galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose, that the lone star tick produces an allergy to.

It's interesting, because regular consumption of both of those food types are associated with increased mortality. Especially, regular excess consumption.

And there's this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha-gal_allergy

Bites from certain ticks, such as the lone star tick in the US, which can transfer this carbohydrate to the victim have been implicated in the development of this delayed allergic response which is triggered by the consumption of mammalian meat products.[5] Despite myths to the contrary, an alpha-gal allergy does not require the afflicted to become a vegetarian, as poultry and fish do not trigger a reaction.[6]

Isn't that interesting, I've long maintained that poultry and fish were non-harmful to eat. And, it seems this might precisely be why.

I really just speculated it was because "chicken and poultry" lack sugar, unlike red meat and dairy. It appears it's not just the fact it has sugar, but this particular sugar. I say that, because regular high fruit consumption is associated with the greatest food-group associated reduction in stroke risk, and fruits are particularly high in sucrose. That's not to say straight sugar consumption is great, lol, other reasons why unrefined sugars are evil.

Maybe the commonality between red meat, dairy and unrefined sugar consumption is that they all lack intact fiber in addition to having sugar, and that's really what the issue is.

Well, I'm feeling pretty confident it's because of this particular sugar, because it's recognized as foreign by the body and triggers an immune reaction. This immune reaction, we've learned, underlies arthersclerosis. Of course, it's not just 'foreign sugars' that produce an immune reaction, obviously some dietary bacteria triggers an immune reaction causing the post-meal-blood-pressure increase.

It appears that what can likely aggravate the immune response and arthersclerosis.
-At least some intestinal/dietary/dental bacteria
-At least some viruses
-Foreign sugars
-Foreign mold (Yeast)

Now it's curious to know what are the major culprits in the western world. I kind of doubt there's a single explanation.

As to the relationship between urinary cortisol and artherslcerosis, that's another interesting question. Because while certain emotional states and socioeconomic statuses are associated with heightened cortisol, the immune reaction caused by diet also produces cortisol (It's what caused the post-meal blood pressure curve.). It's curious to know which "cortisol associated events" actually aggravate arthersclerosis. Perhaps all of it, perhaps only the "foreign bodies" cortisol events does. The research suggests "All of it" is fairly plausible, but vasoconstriction could be the explanation moreso than aggravated arthersclerosis. Based on the research between monkeys and hierarchy, given they all have a fairly standard 'healthy' diet in the wild and lower status members having more CAD, primate research suggests "All of it".

Anyway, I'm getting a little excited to try out the t-post+tarp idea and start collecting rainwater. I realize I'm not going to get a garden started this year (Missed the start of the season)...

Well, what am I talking about. There's at least 4 more months in the growing season, plenty of time for most produce.

Okay, well then, let's deploy the green house and start germinating some seeds, and then we'll plant it, water it and harvest later. In the meantime, I need to deploy the vinegar 55 gallon barrel barrels soon as I can use them right away. This other one, smells like it's been filled with ammonia, appears I'll need to wash through it a couple times to reduce the PPM low enough for garden watering use.

So after I get the shed built, need to deploy the greenhouse, the 55 gallon rain barrels and ready the garden.

Getting the RV on the property and fencing it in will happen whenever the weather is right after the shed is constructed and RV is successfully on the driveway.

I figure house construction will not happen until sometime around late September. Because, construction right now is kind of unbearable with the heat/humidity. I guess I could work at night, but I really don't feel comfortable doing something like that at night.

And, it's good I'm getting this shed deployed, because it's giving me insight into practical designs, and after seeing what 12x12 looks like, I'm thinking maybe I'd like 16'x16' initially (15'x15' internally). Or maybe 12'x16' (11'x15' internally).

12'x16' would mesh a bit easier with the intended design with 16' width and 10' height for the south wing, so that'd be pretty sensible.

Okay, today was a rainy day, so I figured the likelihood of the bicyclist thief was fairly low. Bicyclists and ATV riding kids aren't going for a joyride, and it seems like this is also true for most "random traffic" through here. The nicer it is outside, the more "tourist traffic" this street seems to get. So, I went to go get t-posts, a t-post pounder and mold inhibitor. The water protector sealant had warnings against interior use, including "longterm exposure caused brain and nerve damage", and that caught my attention, lol. Especially here where hot humid weather means there's going to be plenty of vapor 'exposure'. So I looked around, and found milder stuff that doesn't seem to be quite as effective and definitely not as long-term, but it's worked for a lot of people, so I'd give a try. I kind of wonder if pressure treated plywood has that same issue; saw warnings on it, but nothing quite as specific/severe as "longterm brain damage", lol, but I assume it might have similar effects. The more effective something seems to be, the more harmful it tends to be, lol.

I got a t-post pounder because I'm not going to try pounding into 8 foot t-posts with a 4 pound hammer. A 6 footer was difficult enough, lol. I'm most likely getting tposts when I make the main fence, because the other alternatives require digging, lol. I don't like digging post holes if I can avoid it. I'm going to have to dig for the corner posts, and oh well.

Anyway, I remember going to the HEB last Thursday, I felt like I was really missing someone.

Then went to the HEB today, and no such sentiment could be found. Just a mildly annoyed feeling. A destructive feeling, manifesting in certain ways, both internal and external.

Anyway, today was freedom fest day for one of the local towns, and a sheriff escorted parade of trucks carrying flags on the back was spotted. Saw the Texas flag, the USA flag, a black, white and blue USA flag (what is that?), and then towards the very back... there was two guys carrying the confederate flag, lol. What's funny is that here the confederate flag is not really a prominent theme here in Texas, but I think it was pretty darn prominent in South Carolina, lol. I don't believe Texas was part of the confederacy back then? Oh, looks like it was. And, they replaced Sam Houston, then governor of Texas, in order to do it.

http://www.usflags.com/products/5217-thin-blue-line-usa-flag.aspx

Apparently it's "The police flag", lol. Oh god, well, now I know what the US flag would look like in the police state. And, that flag is firmly appropriate for this particular town; it acts like a police state.

Anyway, will try to set up the IBC tank rainfunnel later today. If the proof of concept proves good, I'll go ahead and get the other 55 gallon drums setup. This will be the gardening water supply, at least initially.

Anyway, I'm thinking 12x16 is a pretty good initial size.

The train who blared its horn and woke me up at 4 a.m. (5 a.m.?)... that guy sucked. Didn't seem like a standard passing train; seemed like he had the loudest horn ever on purpose because he was trying to be annoying. Woke me half awake which triggered a sweaty uneasy feeling and I just told myself "Just go back to sleep", I did. It's these guys and the gunfire I'm trying to keep from disrupting my sleep with the house construction.

And, right now, I feel like I need to stop posting here. >.<

I need to increase my income. My income is not really particularly low, but my discretionary income is. It wouldn't take much of increase in income to double my discretionary income and thus my savings rate. If I could save $1000/month, I'd be saving up for housing projects like no person's business, and I could acquire all the necessary funds within 3 years to complete the overall structure. It's just hard to see how that's going to happen exactly, getting where I am now was difficult enough. It looks easy enough to see where I am now, but that really represents all the "2 steps forward, 1 step back" dance.

Anyway, I really need the room to deploy my equipment and that's where the shed comes in. I'm hoping that, along with expanding this business once I get access to my data and software once I get my hard-drive readers in, will be what will help accomplish that.

I need to fence it in, further, to protect my property from thieves. With the trucks rolling through here at all hours of the day, I'm a bit paranoid someone's looking to ransack the place. I even think about them pulling out a portable angle grinder, cutting the trailer hitch lock off and pulling the RV away, which would be absolutely devasting. So getting the RV on the property after the shed is assembled and getting it on blocks is particularly important to the security plan (Getting it fenced in would be much of it.). Right now, I can't take a vacation simply because the theft risks are way too high.

So, let's estimate a 12x16 cost...

using 2 foot centers.

Flooring. Estimating $300

Framing.

the 12 foot sides would need 7x 8ft studs.
the 16 foot sides would need 9x 8ft studs.
Ceiling would need 8x 12ft. studs

4x 12 foot lumber (left right side, top bottom)
4x 16 foot lumber (front back, top bottom)
4x 8ft. 4x4s

Totals (Using home depot's website as of today)
---------
16x 8ft. studs -> 16*3.17 = $51
12x 12 ft -> 12 * 5.37 = $65
4x 16 ft. -> 4 * 7.39 = $30
4x 8ft 4x4 -> 4*13.48 = $54

Framing total = 51+65+30+54 = $200

Sheathing.

12*8+12*8+16*8+16*8+12*16(Ceiling) = 640 sq. ft.

640sq.ft / 32sqft per 4x8 panel = 20 4x8 panels

Smart siding @ $25 per 4x8panel -> 20*25 = $500

So to recap.

Flooring $300
Framing $200
Paneling $500
Door $100
Paint $50
----------------
$1150 pretax, $1250 posttax

I'd guesstimate each 16ftx16ft addition would be an extra $1500 pretax, $1620 posttax

Update: Just saw bambi! She popped out of the woods and then went back inside. First sighting of deer in this area. I thought I would see them a lot more when I got here, but I was guessing they weren't in these particular woods because the foliage is too thick for large creatures. And the thorny vines.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_in_the_American_Civil_War#Battles_in_Texas

Over the next few days, a mob demanded that a government warehouse be opened to them, and soldiers detained and plundered a train. Several hundred civilians sacked the blockade runner Lark when it docked on May 24, and troops sent to pacify the crowd soon joined in the plunder. On May 23, residents in Houston sacked the ordnance building and the clothing bureau. Riots continued in the city until May 26. Both government and private stores were raided extensively in Tyler, Marshall, Huntsville, Gonzales, Hempstead, La Grange, and Brownsville. In Navasota, a powder explosion cost eight lives and flattened twenty buildings. In Austin, the State Treasury was raided and $17,000 in gold was stolen. By May 27, half of the original confederate forces in Texas had deserted or been disbanded, and formal order had disappeared into lawlessness in many areas of Texas.

Wow, I pretty much know where all those little towns are (They're all around here, within 50 miles in all directions). Didn't know the town of Navasota went back to the civil war; could explain the many seeming antediluvian buildings at its core.

It's kind of cool seeing that this particular general area is steeped in history. Wouldn't have guessed.

Hmmm... yeah, I think it's because they're displaying their helplessness and want you to take dominance and save them/protect them/take care of them.

Yeehaw, looks like we're back in business! But, what the heck was that? That's really got me going and I'm definitely maximizing expansion once I can get the software and data off the main hard-drives. I checked the SSDs last night and no trace of the site backup. (The backup is important because there are inbound links linking to particular pages on multiple sites, so i need the links to be correct, and I don't necessarily know what all those links are.)

Breathing has been difficult lately, at times. My spirometer looks fine so I'm surmising Acid Reflux. But, it's a little confusing when the cocoa drink produces that sickly chest feeling; cocoa is a known antidote for acid reflux. More intense exercise seems to produce reminiscent phenomena, which would lead me to suspect heart. Was getting this sickly chest feeling periodically yesterday morning. It seems fairly similar to that feeling I got after looking like my front wheel was going to sink into a pothole, which produced much scare, that sickly chest feeling then gripped. I'm surmising acid reflux because my physical activity levels have been low recently due to rain and there's no room to walk in the RV, which I think might be backing up food. I think movement gets the fibrous bulky fruits and vegetables moving on through.

Shit. Keyboard died.

Using laptop keyboard. Won't last long. Keeping it short.

ppl say he's stupid 4 going wrong way. i say likely homicidal/suicidal. Because I've thought about it like 10 years ago, but dismissed it because of the dissappointingly low kill:death ratio. Other methods have a reliably higher kill:death ratio. Never high enough for me, so I never entertained any of them. I think kim jong might be suicidal/homicidal. A nuke would have the highest kill:death ratio of them all.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spokane,_Washington#Economy

Despite diversification to new industries, Spokane's economy has struggled in recent decades. Spokane was ranked the #1 "Worst City For Jobs" in America in both 2012[163] and 2015,[164] while also ranking #4 in 2014.

Yep, I had a strong feeling something was wrong there. Likely ultimately one of the reasons I left. (I actually knew what was wrong before I left: The culture of poverty. The area attracted poverty minded individuals and no one wanted to spend money, so the local economy stunk once the real estate money dried up in 2008. Pops is like that, too. He makes millions, but doesn't want to spend a dime. Luckily, the wifey makes sure that doesn't happen, lol.)

Anyhoo, comparing income stats.

Here, $21,000/year for females.

In Spokane, females had a median income of $34,795(in 2012).

Male income stats are similar.

That's interesting. I wonder why there's a large disparity? Is it more patriarchal down here?

Certainly it's not because Spokane is "doing better". (But the difference in median income stats suggest that the group of individuals, as a whole, are doing better.

Males appear to be doing better in Magnolia vs Conroe. Everyone is doing better in the woodlands. Appears the woodlands has mainly corporate offices and office buildings, likely primarily along the lake.

Anyway, another 4 days of runtime on the generator before needing an oil change. Randomly acts like it's dying once every 3-4 hours, but doesn't die. 50 hours of operation before needing an oil change is a bit low (100 is recommended.).

Wonder if there's some kind of routine maintenance I need to do?

Maybe an air filter cleaning.

I did have the cover off for a day before it started acting up 20 days ago, so maybe the air filter got quickly clogged up.

I don't know about Spokane, but I understand Seattle and nearby are supposed to be considered pricey real estate. So a 1,100 sqft. house on a 4,500 sqft. lot might cost what in Spokane? I could believe in Houston proper it might reach $100k.

So there's one of those for sale at the foot of my hill. $719,000.

I'm still pausing hard just repeating it. My house and my lot are each more than twice that size. Does that mean. . . ?

I just want to laugh, considering what I paid for mine not so long ago. Do you know how much more property tax they'll pay on that than I pay?

I'm feeling somewhat confident that real estate values in LA proper are based on land values. It doesn't seem very sensible that a $100,000 house minus the land would suddenly be worth $500,000 more because of location. I could understand $50,000-100,00 more due to construction permits, tap fees and whatnot...

So a large lot would likely have good value.

In Spokane, a house like that would usually go for about $110k. In Houston Proper, I'm guessing $120-$150k. There's a premium for the nicer areas, of course... such a house in "The Heights" (older, gentrified neighborhood) would likely go for far more.

http://www.staffordtx.gov/departments/permits-zoning-code-enforcement/construction-permits.html

Says a city without city property. Apparently just county proper taxes. That's quite nice for the sugarland neighborhood. Looks like they make it up in permit fees.

I don't need a permit to build a pool, lol.

Upper gums feel itchy when I floss.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/528297-itchy-gums-allergies/

Although oral contact with an allergen is not necessary, eating raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, spices and legumes is a common cause.

I was just eating coconut, peas and a banana. So yes, it's possible.

Although the symptom is generally mild, itchy gums may be an early sign of a more severe allergic reaction. As a result, you should seek immediate medical attention if you experience breathing difficulties or a rapid escalation of allergic symptoms along with your itchy gums.

I wonder if that difficulty breathy and lethargy after waking up from a nap 2 days ago was due to allergy?

It was raining. Might have kicked up allergens. I'm definitely allergic to something in this forest (Or maybe it's something else... hydrocarbon byproducts...), hasn't been that severe lately.

Seems like it was pretty bad in May.

Each year, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) declares May to be "National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month." It's a peak season for asthma and allergy sufferers, and a perfect time to educate your patients, family, friends, co-workers and others about these diseases.

So May is /the worst/ for allergies.

Anyway, I'm scheduling shed construction for Wednesday. No rain yet cloudy and cool. Perfect. Got the shed moved to the construction site so it's just waiting to be done.

Was munching on coconut and drank my cocoa honey drink. Divine combination this morning. Coconut and cocoa. I bet that would taste pretty good on vanilla icecream.

Anyway, never really thought about it. All the stars seen by the naked eye are from the milky way galaxy (The stars seen are "nearby" stars in the galaxy, the milkyway band on the darkest of nights is the other end of the galaxy). There's an estimated 100 billion galaxies according to Hubble. That's a /ton/ of stars we can't see, lol.

Apparently the milky way is 100,000 lightyears across, the furthest star seen in the nightsky without telescope is V762 Cas in Cassiopeia constellation at 16,308 light-years away. The closest is 4.3 lightyears away(Alpha centauri). So we really don't see much of the milkyway even.d

Anyway, learning about traditional construction methods.

2x4s for framing.

OSB boards for wall sheathing. (Like this $12 4x8 http://www.homedepot.com/p/7-16-in-x-48-in-x-8ft-Oriented-Strand-Board-386081/202106230 )

Housewrap (For keeping water away from the sheathing, and also allow the sheating to dry if it gets wet. Prevents rotting. Like this 9ftx150ft $87 wrap ->http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-9-ft-x-150-ft-Housewrap-AK709150/203934290) ; Somewhere flashing tape can get used and is recommended.

Some kind of siding beyond that. Like traditional vinyl or stone. I see that stone siding is popular in Texas's wealthier neighborhoods. I really doubt the houses are built from brick like I once assumed.

I'm thinking replacing the OSB with smartsiding and not bothering with housewrap and vinyl siding is suitable.

But I wonder about that smartsiding...being treated wood, does it also have those "longterm brain damage" warnings? o_O

Maybe it's really only suitable for storage sheds...

I do see pictures of houses at http://www.lpsmartside.com so this is encouraging.

Could have been on rodent patrol, unless poisonous might be a beneficial species.

Hey dude, it was the first time I've gotten to fulfill my Perseus dreams and behead a snake head. (Or snakes head? lol.)

Anyway, got the shed bottom floor framing assembled and at the point where it's like "STOP. Don't continue until you have plenty of time to complete the entire thing.", and that's tomorrow. At 80 degrees(? What weather channel says, might be cooler in the forest), I can wear my mosquito garb indefinitely without oversweating. Had to get my beesuit on because it was getting /THICK/ with mosquitos. I'm sure I killed at least 4 between clapping and the electric fly swatter.

This beesuit is so nice.I originally got it for "The huge hornets" I read about online in Houston, but I'm finding it's hugely beneficial with the mosquitos. I'm using it more for mosquitos than hornets.

I got one on you, I got 4 mosquitos today! nana

http://oureverydaylife.com/become-kind-woman-men-chase-11791.html

Nothing is quite as unattractive to a man as a woman who is constantly clinging to him, demanding that he be her constant source of entertainment and reassurance. Men want a woman who has her own life and does not need validation from him to feel whole. Having your own life will show a man that you can develop a relationship with him and not overwhelm him with a constant need for affirmation. Develop your own hobbies, maintain separate friendships, and get involved in activities that do not involve the man you are interested in.

Hmmm...

I think this really depends on the guy. Because, I wouldn't mind having a dependent-codependent relationship myself, lol. A girl worshipping my every movement and obeying my every command; I just don't see anything wrong with that, lol. All hypothetically speaking, of course.

Ghiradelli cocoa - 15% iron per TBSP. Cheapo brand cocoa - 8% iron per TBSP. No wonder why ghiradelli has a 60% price premium; it has twice the minerals/fat/etc.! It's like twice the cocoa per TBSP, lol. (You can taste it too; the cheapo brand is some dull-tasting bland cocoa. I replaced the cheapo brand /fast/.)

Now 87F and kind of sunny according to weather.com. Definitely sweating in my beesuit, but it's a light-medium sweat, not too bad.
t
Looks like somewhere below 83-85F is the sweet zone for working in the beesuit. And according to climate charts, it appears that should consistently start sometime after Sept 20th. I guess that's when I'll start construction, which gives me 3 months of savings to buildup starting from now. Cool.

Now at step 11, install the crossmembers. They don't mention it requiring 2 people, but it kind of looks like it. I got away with DIY for step 6(?), installing the corners, without another person by using the ICB tank to keep the corners in place while I installed them to the frame. A little finicky but it worked. Anyway, trying to figure out the DIY approach here. It looks like these are important for the strength of the structure. Complicating matters, I accidentally stepped on one of the crossmember tubes bending it. I tried bending it back with my hammer, but it kind of looks like it's lost its shape somewhat permanently, lol.

I figured I would get the roofing done some other day since it seems advisable to get that done all in one swoop. Stray winds catching the roof seems like a bad idea.

Okay, I think I got it. Use the drill to enlarge the holes in the crossmember tubes and install nuts and bolts instead of using the supplied screws. Might need to get more nuts/bolts later on if I run out.

Anyway, the complaints of "Holes not lining up".... Eh, they're close enough. They're usually not close enough because the sheets/corners/etc. aren't perfectly squared away and in 100% contact (A little bend in the sheet due to gravity, etc.), so they usually need to be pulled so they get "close enough" and then the screw might need to get installed at an angle to catch the hole. It's been straightening out as it screws in. It's not really a show stopper.

Anyway, it seems these ants really like using my frame to get from point A to point B, lol. I don't blame them, a bit faster than walking on the leafy forest floor.

Update: Couldn't find the drillbits. Deduced to be in van. Preliminary search returned no results. Will purge the van tomorrow. Not enough time left tonight for purging, since I usually take a long nice break after taking everything out, which would likely lead into the dark time. Also, low light environment not the best for searching. I'm supposed to go grocery shopping tonight, so no bueno.

Anyway, yesterday night, mysterious truck came by at 8:55 p.m., coincidentally right before dark.

What's notable about that is that I've been pushing out my departures until 8:55 p.m. due to theft concerns, and here's this guy rolling by at the time I've been leaving in recent days. People don't go down these roads at night or even close to dark, so this guy pushing it just 5-10 minutes before dark is a bit suspicious. So, no proof anyone has been observing me, but there seems to be A LOT of evidence.

I can't wait to this shed built, the RV on my property and the property fenced in. It seems like my property is getting targeted due to the lack of fencing and the few goodies on the property. Those goodies would've been normally hidden, but someone venturing in my backyard indicates that secrecy has been compromised.

The results argue against an increased systemic antigen presentation caused by an impaired mucosal barrier in the inflammatory bowel disease. Rather, they suggest that yeast cell wall material--that is, mannan, or some antigen rich in mannose and cross reacting with mannan, may play an aetiological role in Crohn's disease, but not in ulcerative colitis. The increases in IgA and IgM, as well as IgG suggest that local and systemic immune systems are selectively activated by antigen(s) present in the cell wall of baker's yeast.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1379403/

Seems to hint that yeast activates the immune response moreso than gliadin(Wheat protein). That's not to say that gliadin doesn't engage the immune response by binding to CXCR3, increasing the "gaps", and helping the bacteria invade, just that gliadin doesn't directly trigger antibody production like yeast does.

However, these results suggest that yeast might play a stronger role in wheat's arthersclerosis associations than gliadin. (Hypothetically, unleavened bread would not have yeast issues. Not too many currently existing cultures subsist off unleavened bread to generate further insight.)

Hypothetically, I suppose you could compare the post meal blood pressure curve between unleavened bread and regular bread to see if there's a significant difference.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unleavened_bread
Unleavened breads, such as the tortilla and roti, are staple foods in Central America and South Asia, respectively.

Interesting, apparently some natives of India eat wheat but I guess not leavened bread. They're supposedly healthier in spite of their wheat-eating habits (Anecdotally anyways) but factual data is hard to come by. However, rice consumption outweighs wheat consumption by over 50:1 in India as a whole, so it's not really a key part of India's diet, only in certain wheat growing locales in the northern non-coastal lands that don't get a lot of rain.
