50000$, 10 years, assuming you heat, cook, shower the same way as I would...

I use on average 20 kWh per day.

My oven pull 15000w, dryer 5000w, waher 500w, frige 500W, water heater 3500 w, window ac 750W, mini split 2000W, heater basboard 500W to 2000w each.

I would want to be able to pull 20kW at once.
And i'd want 7 days of reserve electicity (150 kWh).

So I wonder how much would it cost me for lithium batteries.

I also want to be able to charge with solar at 10000W charge rate.

How much would it cost to be off grid ?

? I thought you already said it would be $50k ?
But i suspect it would be more if you use all commercial suppliers. (No DIY, or salvaged batteries )
Most of your cost will be in that 150kWh battery at around $500 /kWh..... $75k
...and a fat 20kW inverter. ($10k ?)
.. and an expensive install.

I wish ! Is it really 500$/kWh ? Isn't Tesla able to do it for 100$/kWh ?

I would DIY for the parts of the install that are not too complicated. I can install thr solar panels mysef. But I wouldn't cheap out on the batteries.
It possible to find 100W panels for 80$ nowadays. So 10 000W of panels would be around 8000$. The inverted would be quite costly indeed. For the batteries I dunno. Maybe buy a used tesla and salvage the cells. I don't know that I can trust old laptop cells ina huge battery. BMS is going to be expensive as well. I heard of a thing called Batrium.

One other solution would be to buy a propane oven. Then I gess i could live with a 5 or 6 kW inverter.

I dunno, what offgrid system typically need for a 1000 square feet home. What battery capacity is reasonable ?

Most folk i know of living off grid do a combo of the following..
..adapt their lifestyle and expectations,
..learn about the benefits of house insulation..and ski hats
..invest in a good back up generator !

..hell, i am on grid, with solar, and even i have a back up generator !

I'd be willing to adapt my lifestyle to lower consumption. Don't need a cloth dryer. Can go propane oven. But when on grid, do you still pay monthly fees just for being connected the grid ? My hydro company charges 23$+Tx just /month for the grid connecton amd the 11.18 cents/kWh (here in NB canada).

It will be hard to justify going off grid when you are only paying $.11/ kWh for grid power. $23/month for the connection is high but I'd want a grid tie or generator for backup anyway.
