Lithium Battery Warehouse Fire

News reports of Superior Battery Inc. , located in Morris , Ill ( USA ) having a large ( 180,000 lb to 200,000 lb ) lithium battery fire.

Firefighters tried to put the fire out using dry chemical , over 1,000 lbs of Purple-K . This did not work, so they used high flow water to cool it. Then covered it with 28 tons of Portland cement. Batteries ranged in size from cell phone to a little bigger than a car battery. Business owner said he was planning to go into the solar power business by the end of the year.
