Hey Everyone,
I know it's been a while, but tonight I'm going to upgrade the forum software. Backups will be made of everything first before I do this, so no worries if things go wrong for some reason. I'm also going to fix up the image problem here (and clean out the thousands of orphan images) to hopefully get this forum backup and running at top capacity. A lot of members have offered to help and I'll probably take them up on their offer.

You da man, MB.

Oh man, a Friday night upgrade, been there, done that.

Good luck with the images, it would be GREAT to see them linked back up.

Thank you! Thank you very much! To get all the old figures and pix back is a miracle.

Plus if you have time, check your IM on the board, I made a favicon you could throw in the root directory for the site if you wish.

... finally I am going to go let the smoke out of some semiconductors to offer up for a successful upgrade tonight!

PS: If I never see you guys again, know that I appreciated all I learned from you, and no matter how long it takes I'll continue to try to reassemble the electrons to get in touch with you again and to get a glimpse of your wisdom and humor...

Edit: The morning came and the board worked and it loaded faster! Thanks for the upgrade that worked!! :D

I don't post much, till I find a need , an I feel there maybe many more like myself that would like to say
Thank You
I'm sure we see only a fraction of all you do an there is much that goes unnoticed for all of this I, we, Thank You
John Fox

Fingers crossed that it goes well.

Thank you for your good work, KnightMB.

Could you add one of the free mobile plugins to make viewing ES on the road easier on the eyes? Thanks. I'm told it's a quick add.

Update...
TouchBB - http://www.messageforums.net/iphoneforumreader.php
Tapatalk - http://www.tapatalk.com/ , http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.php

Not too sure about others. It's just difficult to browse, search, post on mobile web.

Is the "Minimal" theme not small enough to work or are these themes just better turned specifically for mobile devices?

Also, can someone give me some quick links to forums that have messed up images so I can benchmark if things are being fixed properly?

They just help make reading, writing and navigating much easier. For example everytime I access ES on a mobile device I have to do a lot of zooming in and out to read the text. PhpBB just wasn't intended for these smaller screens. It's no big deal if it's too complex. I've never added this feature to a forum myself so I don't want to be too demanding. Keep up the great work.

Is this mobile add on being refered to, if so, then yes please, I use this to view other forums on the iPhone

FAQ from Forum Owner:

Q: How much does it cost?

A: As a forum owner you are free to activate Tapatalk in your forum, and you are free to remove/deactivate it anytime you want to.

Q: Which forum system does it currently support?

A: Currently phpBB3 3.0.x, vBulletin 3.6.x/3.7.x/3.8.x/4.x, xenForo 1.0.X, Invision Power Board (IPB) 3.x, Simple Machine Forum (SMF) 1.1.11+/2.x and MyBB 1.4/1.6 are supported. You can also look for other forum system plugin developed by third party developers using Tapatalk API at our Developer Support forums

Q: I have multiple forums, Can I activate more than one forum?

A: Yes, you can and additional forums are free also.

Q: What's the point of this app if my members can access my site with mobile skin or Safari at no cost?

A: We received a lot of feedback from users that they want a dedicated app on their smartphone. Most users are contented with the mobile skin or a standard web browser but some of them would appreciate a full-on native app on their phone. For example Tapatalk app allows user to upload photo directly from their phone to your forum as an image attachment. We are also rolling out Push Notification support so it helps your members to stay in touch with your forums while on-the-go.

Q: Do you do rebranding / private white label for my forum?

A: Yes, please visit our rebranding page for more information

Q: I already have my own app developed, can I add Tapatalk into my app?

A: Yes, please visit our rebranding page for more information as we provide branding as a in-app module.

Q: How does the Tapatalk Plug-in work with my forum system security?

A: The Plugin is designed to inherit all security policies from your forum system. For example, if a specific sub-forum is a restricted access, the Tapatalk iPhone client would not be able to access it unless the logging member has the authority to access it.

Q: Is this service compatible with all other 3rd party modifications that I have installed on my forum system?

A: While we don't guarantee the Tapatalk Plugin will work with all your existing modification. It allows you to experiment the compatibility with our free Lite version. We have tested with many forums with certain degree of modifications and majority of them work well with Tapatalk. Support for modified forums are courtesy basis only and we will not provide refund or any trouble-shooting if it is found that your modification caused the Tapatalk from working as designed.

Q: My organization also developed a forum system, how I can make it compatible with the Tapatalk app so our customers / members would be able to use the same app to access?

A: You can access our Tapatalk API with full documentation on how to bridge your forum system with Tapatalk app support.

Still have questions? Visit our Tapatalk Community Forum where you can chat with us and other forum owners that's on Tapatalk!

The software upgrade "seems" to have gone through without a hitch so far, time will tell if we run into anything else

The image repair, luckily doesn't require the forum to go down, just mainly repairing the actual image files on the server. This can be done without interrupting everyone, so that's what I'll be working on next for a while.
