Hi All,

I bought "construct 2" a program for making games in html 5...basically you can build a game and it will run in your internet browser.I could use a few comments on the playability of it so if you want to have a go and leave a comment here....fun, not fun, sucks, does not suck etc it would be much appreciated.

Game is here at http://www.moostrodamus.com/moosgame

if you fall on your side within the first 5 seconds, the game does nto stop and you can't turn the ship the right way up again, if stuck against the cliff

Exactly the kind of thing i need to know. Will fix that.

Thanks NeilP

It seems like the 'suck' when you press down only functions for a limited time in spite of the graphic giving the appearance of still working.
The three lives concept is something the game could do without. Silly gimmicks like those were made for arcade games to eat a players money and waste their time.
I don't know if you wanted players do a 180 to slowdown if going upward too swiftly, but maybe a button for reverse thrusters and use something else to turn on suck would be good.

Thanks guys, i'll check both these issues out and give some thought to modernizing the game. Appreciate you taking the time to comment!

You may have to update your video drivers...here is a link to a utility by the company that made the program to make games

Also, what is written after the FPS?

Web gl?

Canvas 2d?

If you use internet explorer, it doesn't use the webgl graphics accelerator, and subsequently runs slower. Firefox is a bit buggy but faster, Chrome is the smoothest/fastest.

Maybe your computer is slow...but likely one of the above will help...still learning myself but theses are the things they say to check for.

As for fuel...Are you collecting the orange squares? Hit the ESC key or click your mouse on the question mark icon to see what stuff does.

Oh and "A" key zooms in and out .

NeilP and bowlofsalad,

Small update to Beta 1.1.1

Changed the ship to one jet disabled (so people can see how that works), and now you can fall over and still get back up again. Changed the suckomatuc 2000 to work like bowlofsalad said it should. The sphere rocks, everyone here is real technically observant from fixing bikes all the time! Now must sleep...thanks all.

:)

Pretty cool.

But the music/sounds are garbled and sound like they are fighting each other, even though the game says 60fps. The game kinda jerks with sound on, too. turning it off makes it run smooth. I'm on Firefox Beta.

Also, once you get tipped over knocking down the wall on the 2nd level, you're stuck. you need an Abort button, or a reset of some kind.

Yes, the audio crackle pop cut in and out is a known issue with Firefox. if you search "Firefox html5 audio" you get a whole page of "why doesn't this work". Firefox is my default browser too, i sympathise fully.
Html5 is a relatively new tech without any standardization yet. In fact when you post a project to a web page you have to include 3 different audio formats to accommodate different browsers. I hate to sound like a shill for chrome, but so far the tech works best with that. you might want to try using that to play.

Now having said that I DO need to clean up the audio , basically i just slapped that together from a jam clip i made...clank sound when you hit something is me hitting a pot...seriously! But the dehumidifier was going, and the furnace kicked in so the quality isn't that great.
So much to learn and do, lot's of placeholder stuff.

Lastly ...yep...have to think this out a bit but need an abort button for sure...thinking and thanks for input.

i tried to go to the link to download the graphics utility updater but it didnt work. i also went to intel's site to update it but it said i should keep the version i have on it already, so ill leave it where its at now since its my only computer and i dont want to risk it.

after FPS it says WebGL. i was running the game in firefox. i tried it in chrome too and the it runs a bit slower around 7 FPS(WebGL). i turrned off the sound when i was playing it in firefox and the speed shot up to around 20 FPS.

i think i have to say that my computer really is slow. also, i do have all of my schoolwork open on my computer, like word processor and adobe pdf reader and stuff like that, so ill have to try again when im done all of my schoolwork to see if it runs better.

Dude...you trying to get me in trouble...do your homework!
