Careful is an adjective. If you add ly, is it what?

I almost had a perfect score, but then this isn't what an IQ test is really like. DON'T enter your EMail address, your results are there when you scroll down.

"Carefully" is an adverb. However, the clause in the question, "is it what," isn't what should be used in a quiz. Thus, we must flunk the inquisitor.

Can they mark intelligence based on whether I give a flying or not? lol

I THINK you're trying to say you got my point. The correct answer would be "No, it is 'Carefully.'" This thing was full of questions like that. A critical thinking skills test is not the same as an IQ test. I remember I found the test mildly fascinating for its' ridiculousness.

Some people try to insist cats are smarter than dogs on that basis.

Should we rate a dog higher because of its greater interest in literature. I think it is a fair point.

This is all very confusing lol

Actually, yes. A thorough test addresses the subject's attitude toward taking the test and makes conclusions accordingly. But don't expect these tests to do that.
The than-a-5th-grader tests are just the products of someone trying to take marketing advantage of popular notion, which has become a game show, an app, and other things.

That wasn't an IQ test, just an example of a 5th grade test. I got a 100 on it and I'm not sure I would have in 5th grade, so I blew the premise of the article out of the water. Schools have gotten so far away from actual teaching, that unless the test is mostly about video games and smart phones few 5th graders would be much competition.

Nope. Only "what" would be "what", sticking an "ly" on the end of a word would add an "ly" to the end of it. ;)
