My, how you must hate music. All it means to you is a chance to talk about other things you hate.

So of us are more interested in magical moments. But of course you hate that.

No, I don't think the Elton John movie will do the same for 'Rocketman.'

So if you're catching the commercial where he's singing "East bound and down. . .we're gonna do what they say can't be done. . . ." That's him.

I need some of this guy's attitude right now.

Now that sounds like the theme for a TV detective. These days he drives a Tesla. Or maybe we give Captain Hook from 'Once Upon a Time' his own starship for a new 'Star Trek' series. He could play the TV detective, too.

I have no music skills, but my nephew apparently does. He's released a single and since I do graphics and animation, he asked me to make a lyric video to accompany it. This isn't exactly the kind of thing I usually do, but its related. So here's his first single and my first lyric video.

"Commuter - DC Booster"
Iron Horse 3.0 hardtail - 48V / 1000W / 470rpm generic Chinese DD Hub motor (ebay)
8 x 36v 4.3ah 10s 2P battery packs - 1500W 30A DC Boost Converter delivers 54v and about 1000 watts peak
53T/42T Sakae Road cranks - 30mph+ on flats

I consider Bohemian Rhapsody to be the most complex popular song that was a mega hit. The chords, tempos, vocal harmonies are remarkable.

I consider the Beatles single of Strawberry Fields/ Penny Lane, to be the most revolutionary 45 record ever released in popular music. The Beatles were 1 of a kind. They broke all the rules in popular music, along with creating breakthrough recording techniques. They wrote in numerous genres and took huge risks in changing their writing styles from album to album. They were not the greatest musicians of their era, but the 4 of them together, were the greatest songwriters and revolutionaries in popular music. Mick Jagger used to call them " the 4 headed monster" .

It still astounds me, the Beatles were able to accomplish so much, mostly using 4 track analog recording. Its even more amazing, when you consider they were a band that did not just stick to only guitar/drums/bass/vocals. They constantly used orchestral instruments , unique instruments like the sitar along with doing a lot of 3-4 part complex vocal harmonies. they originated using ideas like tape loops, backwards recordings, ADT ,etc...in the studio.

For anyone who loves music, but does not think the Beatles were great, Id advise them to put on a pair of good headphones, and then listen to songs like ;

ELEANOR RIGBY
PENNY LANE
STRAWBERRY FIELDS
I AM THE WALRUS

I used to rent a house to a black person who was a great jazz guitarist and was very educated in music theory. He would come over to my studio and see my photos of the Beatles on the wall. I asked him if he liked the Beatles, and he said " NO" . I then asked him if he would be open minded enough, to sit down with me, for 20 minutes, and listen to the above 4 songs I mentioned from the Beatles catalogue. He agreed to do it. From that point on, after he really listened to those 4 songs, he became a Beatles fanatic...so much so, that he DEMANDED to borrow all my beatles albums, so he could learn them on guitar.

He told me, he never really listened to the complexities of Beatles songs, when he would hear them on the radio. In fact, he said hen ever he thought of Beatles music, all that would enter his mind, were songs like LOVE ME DO or YELLOW SUBMARINE. He never realized that the Beatles had over 200 original songs , many of which were musically complex and groundbreaking .
