Shipping a regular bicycle to Maryland

Post by Philaphlous » May 06 2017 8:18am

Guys....Trying to get my bike here in the DMV area from Cbus ohio... The drive is about 7 hours 1 way but looking at shipping options. My bike is at my parents house. If they take it all apart so its just the tires, frame, fork all separate and they're able to pack it in a moderately sized box, what are my shipping options? I've never shipped a bike before and wondering if its even possible??? Is it going to cost a fortune?

They can get a box from a bike store and just take off the front wheel, pedals and handlebars. Ship FedEx Ground/home, or google bike shipping for discounted prices. Theres a brace to put in the front fork and one to protect the derailleur from bending (but I take the derailleur loose and just let it hang and wrap it with bubble wrap, or maybe secure it with tape. There should be instructions on the bicycle shipping service's website.

Talent must not be wasted.... Those who have talent must hug it, embrace it, nurture it and share it lest it be taken away from you as fast as it was loaned to you.
