Ebikers EVen more deadlier... (?)

In newz these daze: Cyclists — more deadly than trucks?:
http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/arti ... cks-50820/

... where writer Steven Williams (University of Chichester, Bachelor of Arts (BA), Field Of Study English (Hons) 1997 – 1999)

... neglects to mention *stored* "kinetic energy" once/at all.

(Wiki:)
"It" is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its stated velocity.
("It" doesn't quickly "dissipate" but is stored... see "regenerative braking".)

Like, anybuddy here would rather be hit by a 200-300 pound-ish (bike and rider) object versus a... SIX THOUSAND pound-ish object? Where the operator ("driver") is carefully protected with all kinds of tech (seat belts, etc etc etc) versus the operator ("rider") who is... relatively UNprotected (so far more likely to be "looking out for "Number One".)

Obviously, this was a terrible and senseless accident. Alliston claims to have shouted "Get out of the way!" twice, but if he’d had proper brakes he could have pulled them instead of yelling — and Kim Briggs could still be alive. It’s clear evidence, as if it were needed, that riding without brakes because it looks cool is tragically stupid.

Was the person killed jaywalking? In my US state, if you hit a person in a crosswalk, its more or less murder. If somebody diddy bops into your path in the street, another thing entirely.

The lack of a front brake does confuse things some however, much like broken brakes on a car hitting a pedestrian would.
