I love the feature set of the Cycle Analyst, but I really wish there was a "mini" option that didn't have as many connections and was about the size of a cycle computer.

When I look at some of the displays that are available for some commercial eBikes, I wish that the Cycle Analyst was available in a similar form factor. I'd be willing to give up a few connections (or having one large bundle that extended further from the unit with multiple connections at the end) to save on overall size of the unit. Even if it was a "Cycle Analyst Lite" that only had provisions for the basics, or was reliant on having a CA-compatible controller. Or possibly a only display unit (no intelligence) that connected to a remote box that could be hidden away somewhere. Maybe the box wouldn't be needed if you were also using a Grin controller...

Something like this in terms of form factor: Screen Shot 2018-01-18 at 10.21.48 PM.png

With today's technology, you could even have a "page" feature where you could page through related stats such as battery-centric, motor-centric, or ride-centric.

I'd be willing to have some component limitations if I could get a nice looking display like that.

Just wishing out loud here. I'd love to hear your wishes too. What's your dream display?

If there is an android device that looks like what you want, you can use it with Sigmacom's software, to take the CA data output and display it on the android unit.

A search on "android" in the title of threads displaying by topic finds a page of results; a few are relevant. Here's some; I haven't got anything to test them with so don't know how well each works

That's pretty cool. It's certainly a nicer display. theres just a few downsides:

  1. You still need a CA
  2. You need a wireless adapter
  3. You need an android phone
  4. You need an android app
  5. You still need to use the CA to set things

It would be much nicer if there was just a new CA with an updated UI and physical enclosure.

No law says you have to mount the CA on the bars. Have your minimal display of your choice, but have the CA stashed elsewhere on the bike, for the uses its good for, like limiting amps, etc, and long term battery data.
