What's wrong with this Earth overshoot day is the resources themselves run out at different rates. Coal the overshoot day would probably be January 17th, deposits that got started as we we're switching from B.C. to A.D. will not yet be minable by the time we run out of minable coal in a hundred years or less.
So is running out of coal good news or bad? 'Out' means no more strip mining of it, no more burning it. But what powers these plants when it's gone?
I think your bank there is playing Teary Eyed Hollywood Actress on this one. Make speech, wait for applause, sit back and do nothing. . . .
