Loose crank bearings? [Cyclone3000]

The bearings that hold the chainringsd to the crank arm are loose enough so that something is knocking against something when I push on the right side pedal. Is there a way to tighten them up?

What kind of wrench is used to unscrew the bearing unit from the chainring plate? Not that it will tighten the bearings. Is this a problem with all the Cyclone kits?

Freewheeled cranks that use modified rear single freewheels as a mechanism have a fatal flaw. The bearing is not designed or intended to rotate when there's tension on the chain. It quickly craps out if it is used with motor power without pedaling along. Often, this manifests as the side cover/adjustable race of the freewheel unscrewing itself.

There are three remedies:
1) replace the freewheel mechanism whenever necessary,
2) try a better quality, overengineered freewheel like White Industries, or
3) pedal along, so the ratchet and bearing aren't operating while motor tension is on the chain.

There's a fourth approach that I wouldn't go so far as to call a remedy. Spot weld the race to the freewheel body. DaVinci does this with its Independent Pedaling System for tandem bikes. That doesn't make the bearing hold up any better, but it keeps the thing from unscrewing itself.

Also, don't have any static tension on the chain. It should be at least slightly slack at the tightest point in its rotation.

thanks....maybe the wornout chainring that was causing chain-suck helped it unscrew....

what kind of tool its used to tighen it up???? this kind of thing?
