Hello,

Do you know what is the impact in terms of handling & comfort (on & off road) of installing a central motor vs. a rear direct drive hub motor ? I'm talking about the suspended weight which will be much higher with a hub motor.

The choice would be between QS138 90H and DD55 (if you see more suitable motors to get around 8-10 kW continuous power, tell me !).

For its simplicity, durability and silence, the hub motor has my preference, but I don't know if it will be suitable on trails (I'm talking about light off-road, not extreme enduro and backflips  ).

No contest. Hub motors simply aren't good off smooth pavement.
Actually they aren't good for any real performance setup. We had a discussion recently about this in the Ebike general forum.

NOTHING is impossible with hub motors...

(Except off roading... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
