Hacking a NIU battery onto an Emax?

So...I have an old (2012) electric scooter, an Emax, that runs on 48v lead acid batteries right now. They need to be replaced and I now find myself with an opportunity to get my hands on a lithium based 48v 32Ah original battery intended for a Niu M1 pro...
In your opinion, would it be possible to use the NIU battery with an original plug taken from the NIU harness and connect the wires to the Anderson connector (which is what the Emax uses)? The NIU battery plug has 5 pins, I believe - but the "smart" ones would not be connected to the Emax, only the 48volts...
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
