Husqvarna enduro conversion

Hello everybody,

As I am new to this forum (I've been looking the different topics for some days) I will quickly introduce myself,

My name is Alexis and I live in France (sorry for my english if I make mistakes),
I'm 22 year old and currently studying enology in Switzerland,
I used to fly model planes, but now that I have less time, I reduced this activity,

I'm here to ask for some help,
Last year the motor on my motorbike failed and I can't get it to work again (I can't find the pieces and the motor itself should be redone),
So instead of wasting money without beeing sure that it will work again one day I decided to try the electric conversion.

The motorbike is a husqvarna 250 te from 2004 (enduro bike), it made 20 kw.

My plan is to have a practical bike, that I can use to go in the vineyard,
The autonomy should be about 50 miles,
Max speed of about 55 miles (so that I can use it on the road).

For the money, I would like it to be under 1500$, but it can be higher if needed.

I looked at different topics and websites, but as I am new to this world I have to admit that I'm lost...

I was looking for hub motors (qs motor) so that the finished bike looks nicer (currently there are 18" wheels in the rear),

For the battery pack, I would like to find a premade one that fits my needs,

I would appreciate some help,

I have made some more research,

The QS hub motor looks like the best option for me,
I found their 8kw 17 inch conversion kit on their website,
Has anyone some experience with it ?

On the battery side, this prebuilt kit looks like it could be good enough for me

Being my first e-bike conversion, I won't start with a homemade battery.

You never mentioned if you were going to putt around ( low power expectations!) or if you wanted a fun powerful motorcycle of equal or higher power than its gas equivalent (high power fun!) For an 8kw motor you need basically 112 amps at 72 volts (the battery you picked!) continuous to work. That battery peaks at 50 amps......and is a 10 amp peak cell. That pack max is 90 amps assuming the BMS would allow it. That motor will peak at around 50 kw so to get full potential you would need a pack capable of almost 700 amps. While this battery would power the bike you would most kill it in no time by using too much throttle.

Long story short that is not your best option on a battery pack. You need to be looking at lipo or the best 18650 cells. For the 50 mile range assuming 60 watts per mile at say 35 mph (complete stab in the dark???) you would need about 3000 watt hours to do 50 miles and at 72 volts that would be 42 amp pack.

You're right, I forgot to mention that I want the bike to be fun to ride and powerfull (if possible with higher performance than it originaly had).

As I mentionned in my first post, I used to practice model flying, so I have some concerns about the lipo technology
A battery pack exploded while I was recharching it some years ago. Fortunately, I had a lipo safe bag that prevented the spreading of the fire in the house

On my motorbike, I would like to be able to just plug the battery to recharge it without constantly having to risk a fire if possible

Have you heard of any premade battery pack that could fit my needs ? I searched on ebay and other websites, but I only find the kind of battery that I posted in my second post.
