Use two average controllers to build a better one

Hello Everyone,

I have something in mind, but I'm not sure if this could work. Here it is:

I've got two identical controllers (Yuyang king 80A). They both equally suck.
One of them doesn't work anymore, but I'm pretty sure it is the logic part which is fried, and not the power stage.

What I would like to try is to connect those two controllers together physically, to make one single 160 Amps. The idea would be to take the 100% functional one, and connect the signal going to its mosfets in parrallel with the mosfets of the other one. Also, of course, connect the ground, the phases and the motor phases together. Basically, the first controller would control both power stages at the same time, which theoretically would be like doubling the total number of mosfets and doubling the power.

I'm pretty sure there is a catch here, otherwise someone would probably have done this earlier, but maybe not, so I prefer to ask the question to you experts before I try anything potentially stupid.

Any thoughts?
