Satellite scooter not working

Post by TerraceScooter » Feb 19 2018 11:00pm

Hello, thanks for reading this. I'll make it quick: I have 2 identical scooters, I got them used and both not working. Here is a link to a video that says a lot: https://youtu.be/f8_h6fijSGg

It shows that everything is working except one relay doesn't engage when the throttle is pushed, but when I engaged it manually the motor spins until the throttle is released. I've tried this on both scooters with the same results. Any ideas? Thanks again!

Probably the other relay is supposed to be engaged by disengaging the brake, so most likely either there is a wiring problem (bad connection, broken wire, etc) or a bad brake switch causing no connection to engage that relay, or the relay itself is failed.

That's what is wrong with the little kickscooter i have here:

the relay coil is actually burned out so it can't be engaged electrically anymore.

Hey amberwolf: thanks for the reply. It's amazing looking at your story and seeing how similar your problem is to mine. Although I must say you have a more complex machine, and you post a better story - I need to step it up! I'll update any success I have. I'm having fun just trouble-shooting the scooter, and it's nice to see such an active forum. Thanks again!

I'm not sure how much simpler one of these could be than the thing I have.

Post pics of yours so we can see what it is, inside and out--someone else might already have the same thing with the same problem and know exactly how to help you fix it. :)
