Well, over a week ago I went to get new fets from a local shop.
I didn't get a choice of pretty close components or such.
The replacement had to be ordered anyways, not here yet...
So I'm thinking it's probably better to get theese things from the web.
Google is your freind.

For FETs and discrete electronic components, my favorite is:

if they don't have what I want, next option is:

FET's have a arrived, it only took >1month...
There has to be a better way to get parts?

For me, mouser was quick as a...mouse.There has to be a better way to get parts?

They didn't have it, had me place an order and phone me when it got here...
Four days sounds pretty good.

Re: Surplus Electronics Links
Here in Portland we have a couple of surplus electronics shops
Surplus gizmos is probably the largest
http://www.surplusgizmos.com
Has a lot of connectors and switches and occasionally a few single cool items
Cascade surplus is on the other side of town from me and I haven't been there since they moved even further away. Somebody else will have to comment on them, before they moved I can't remember much more than old relics and lots of transformers.
I haven't seen anyone mention Hamfests we have several good ones in the pacific northwest. Next weekend is a really big one in Washington, when I say really big its really big. I usually get a couple of tables and my daughter sells stuff while I bring other peoples stuff back so my truck maintains its proper ballast.
http://www.mikeandkey.org/flea.htm
And in June is another one here in Oregon
http://www.seapac.org/
There are hamfests all over, you can look up many of them on http://www.arrl.com
These are basically flea markets for electronics and you can find all sorts of strange and wonderful stuff to take up space.
Hope someone finds these links useful

Re: Surplus Electronics Links
I've started to use http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/Pages/index.aspx as my first tier vendor if they stock the parts. As speedy as http://www.digikey.com; but with much better prices on silicon.
Neat surplus place I found about 60 miles from me. The size of two football fields under roof. Good, honest owner, John. http://ctr-surplus.com/hours.html They specialize in high current switch gear, shunts, power controllers, IGBT take outs, those really neat low ESR Inverter Rated Capacitors, ball screws, electric actuators, stuff like that. Sell mostly on ebay, and through the brick and mortar store; but give them a call with what you are looking for and they will work a great deal with you if they have it. They want to move stuff, so I have never been refused on a "Best Offer." I spend a "mental health" day roaming the isles every quarter year.

Re: Surplus Electronics Links
Yep, I love future electronics. They dominate digikey, though a few of my orders were followed up with a phone call telling me that I need to raise my purchase quantity to be a full-strip of parts, either 50 or 100. Sometimes future has saved me $300 in cost vs using digi-rip to get the same parts. Yet, digi-rip is still the king of in-stock variety, so I still use them a few times a month.

lol @ mental health day
I like mouser because it's in the same state as me so whatever I order comes in the next day. And they're website is modern as opposed to digikey which seems stuck in the 90s.
