Wow, those Stealth bikes are something else, but at $5490 for the Fighter 1.2kW bty 2kW motor and $6990 for the Bomber 1.5kW bty 3kW motor they'd want to be. They definitely fill the niche between electric MTB and electric dirtbike though.

ReNew magazine issue 111 had an article on e-bikes, which is where those Stealth prices and specs are listed. A good read if you are looking at buying and want a quick reference of kit weights, etc.

my wheel lasted about 15kays, been almost a year now and he wont even respond to a court order for its return. thats the wrong address too, he lives in albury, you will find, if you dig, that he has done the same to a lot of people.besides that. its only a golden motor, go direct save almost 45%.
a 45 cent part needs replacing, yet he wont and even refused to return my wheel so i can get it fixed

They're actually not golden motors, atleast the one I got from them wasn't. They may look similar but they're different inside.
I too had one fail spontaneously with probably even less ks on it than that. I had a customer that was after an ebike in a hurry so I bought from them as they are local to me. I put the bike together, tested it and it ran fine. I took it for 2 road tests the next day and it was also fine then a few days later when guy came to collect it is suddenly wouldn't go. Certainly not good for business! :|

If you're also in the local area I may be able to fix it for you. For under $100 you can get a new sensorless controller that will quickly have it up and running again. It sucks having to spend more money I know, but It'd be cheaper that taking legal action against them and atleast it gets you back on the road...

and he wont even respond to a court order for its return. he knows that im a battler on a disabled pension and limited funds, he was so full of promises and everything else, and yet,
yet he wont and even refused to return my wheel so i can get it fixed
i have lost count of the phone calls i have made trying to get it fixed or returned, im guessing around $125 in calls to his answering service. but why refuse when i did get them on the phone in one of my last attempts.
almost 12 months it has taken me to recover from that financial blow. tea leaf plain and simple :| oh he also knew that i am disabled and was planning to use the bike to attend the kids first season of cricket last summer. i walked to and from one game and spent the next 3 in bed.
if ya dont care about money buy from him, but if you like to have what you pay for  then avoid him
still have the printed out emails here somewhere, along with a copy expenses incurred till that time. if and when i get the strength and money, i will get him into court :p

Oh he still has your gear ?
Do you have any of it left at all or did he take the lot back ?
Are you in Sydney, check your PM, I'll hook you up with something :)

Anyone dealt with Value-E-Bikes / ezigo
1/3 Commerce Ct, Noosaville QLD PH 07 54555672

They seem to have good prices on basic kits and spare parts

they look ok, i checked them out ages back, but they have expanded a bit more i see. might be a good way to start, but if your a bit handy i would say buy a cyclone, mine is pretty good. just remember you get what you pay for.

That's odd. I bought my 36v 500w kit from him back in 2009. I drove to albury and paid cash and I've now done 4158km. The speed controller blew up, he replaced under warranty, speed controller wires melted, I replaced with a good Kelly controller. But as for the motor, I have been pushing 1400watts into this baby for a year and the motor has taken it all. Rain, hail or shine this motor rocks.

But now with conhismotors I am thinking it's time for an upgrade.

For others, here are the details of the guy from my iPhone. Hope this helps.

What does that mean if someone else is selling them too ? I'm not trying to be an arse, just curious. Is the other mob grey importing them or without the 'official dealer' status from wisper ?

It probably means they have old stock from a few years ago. I've seen several 2007 and 2008 models that have been sold previously from other dealers. Wisper Bikes only sell through their dealers, explained here:
http://www.wisperbikes.com/Export-enquiries.php

Grey imports don't really make economic sense in this situation since no one is buying directly from a factory (a grey importer would just be buying from a international dealer which got them from Wisper originally).

So, do you work for Glow Worm Bicycles?

Yes, it's not a secret if you've followed my posts 8)

However my posts on E-S under my username are entirely my own views, written in my own time and do not necessarily represent the views or positions of my employers :D

Glow Worm Bicycles has been open for just about a year now, but I've been a member of E-S since 2007.

does anyone know what happened to Zega Scooter Shop? The websites www.zegascootershop.com.au and www.zega.com.au have gone offline and the phone number is giving a 'not connected' message.

Sorry, don't know about Zega

sell a range of e-bikes including Wisper (not an authorised dealer), Gette (looks like direct crank drive similar to Aprilia Enjoy), Ultra Motor A2B, Panther and EZPro.

Commute is an authorised dealer of Glow Worm Bicycles to sell Wisper bikes.

All of our eZee and Wisper dealers can be found here:

http://glowwormbicycles.com.au/dealers

We supply our dealers with stock and support them with spare parts, warranty claims & technical support.

OK, getting a bit confusing, considering the other comments by voicecoils, and Commute are not listed on the Wisper web site.

OK, getting a bit confusing...

Sorry to confuse, here's how it works:

Wisper has international dealers for each country. That dealer is the sole importer (and should probably be described simply as the importer!).

Glow Worm is the importer for Australia and we sell our bikes through local dealers. That's why our dealers are listed on our website but not on Wisper's site. Wisper only lists us as we are the importer for Australia.

Whether you buy a bike from our retail shop or from one of our dealers, the price the same as well as the bike's 2 year battery & motor warranty.

Many international companies have a similar distribution network.

:) Thank you for clarifying.

Goldcross Cycles now selling Flight e-bikes and spares, including what looks like the HP8024L charger, NiMh and Lithium batteries, throttles with battery LED status, hub motors (Bafang?) with stainless spokes and 26/700c rims, etc.
