shimano hyperglide c 11-34

I think this guy invented a time machine and went back to 2005 or something lol. He keeps listing about ten at a time.

Nice and smooth and well oiled with no rust. I think this is the holy grail of rear multisprocket clusters unless someone knows better. Iv destroyed 2 9 speed dnp's but the 7 speeds seem to do better as they dont over hang the support bearing as far.

Mechanically, the Shimano 11-34 and less common 11-28 7-speed freewheels are the best ever that I am aware of. The fact that they have 11t top gears is icing on the cake. But no matter how good they are, if you run them in the 11t most of the time, you'll chew them up along with your chain. Think of the small sprocket as a "turbo boost" to be used sparingly when circumstances dictate.

I took the 11-34 freewheels off a couple of my bikes and replaced them with inferior 14-34 units, just because the lesser freewheels would still do the job and I could set aside the out-of-production freewheels for worthier purposes.

Adding high speed gears to a crank drive e-bike would be an example of a worthier purpose.

Iv never chewed a chain in my life as I dont hammer the pedals in the smaller cogs. But the whole units become rattly and sometimes snag the chain as it locks up over bumps

Apparently the megarange one had the best bearings in the shimano freewheels. time will tell

Someone did fudge a support bearing under the 11t cog on a 9 speed dnp block.
