I was tired of all the same old builds with the db8 and stock charger being used under the deck. I wanted to make my own set up and charge them the way that I believe is safer. I use an offboard charger that is secured into my basket. I can plug it in to a wall outlet and plug in the balance lead and let it charge while watching voltages and whatnot. The balance leads are paralleled via a 6x6 splitter from eBay. The balance leads cost a lot less to buy them in short lengths and connect them all together.

I got the batteries on a Thanksgiving sale from HobbyPartz. They were like 40 dollars a piece. The balance leads are like 40 cents a piece. I use the leads to check cell voltages on the handle bars when not charging. The batteries are connected in 6s4p. Each battery goes through a deans parallel connector and they are wired to the two sets of leads from the controller.

Specs:
5 Ah Blue Lipo 20C. 6S4P.
Black can motor. 15/76 gearing.
Power Plays, mag wheels, mad dog brake.
Seat with Basket. Deck Spacer. Doweled Pole with moto bars.
ImaxB6 knockoff charger mounted in basket. 6 channels of balancing in 4P. 4 cells sharing each balance channel.

How it looked after I first restored it.

Controller with Deans Plugs installed. I did all the soldering with a Hakko fx888

Batteries and controller in place. Notice the 2P Deans Connector between controller leads and batteries. Removed the stock charger, freed up a lot of space back there.

Basket Charger. AC power input. Balances each channel at 1S4P. Charges at about 2Amps due to 50 Watts at 6S output. Want to get a more powerful single channel charger but they are expensive. This was about 30 bucks shipped from USA. Allows me to charge and balance when on the road, just need to find a wall outlet wherever I stop.

Not the most current pic. Has bars on it now.

How it sits now. A few weeks ago. Took the scx10 to a spot above my house.

Servicing the Batteries outside the pan. This is a real Imax B6 quattro, the one nearly all the companies put their names on and sell.

I have been racing 1/10 offroad RC and 1/10 comp and scale crawlers. I built this at 6S because it was incredibly easy and cheap to set it up with the knowledge I have. Want to build an EBike for my next project. Have been riding mountain bikes all my life. Want to make a street cruiser to ride around on the street more.

Almost got hit by an suv today. Was riding through a yellow light with two lanes on my side and suv from cross street rolled through the red right turn light. Turned into me and I peeled left until the car in the first Lane was right next to me. I slowed as not to be crushed between the two cars before he slammed on the brakes before hitting the other car. Ugh

Loading up the scooter after picking avocados at my aunts house. About 35 pounds

Nice! I need to get my brushes changed in my black case motor. 15/76 on my silver case gets so hot smoke comes from the engine after 30 minute ride! The 11/76 I have is almost pushing it.

Get a rear brake kit! I can't see going without mine. Hit both brakes and you stop in a very quick hurry.

So this is 5ah total or 10ah?

This was a 20Ah pack until the batteries got old and lost a lot of power. It's at maybe 8-10 now.
