Hey guys I got this frame cheap for $50Aud and waterjetted up the side plates for a battery cradle.

Also got a bunch of cheap 13" scooter motors. Quanshun axles and magnets aren't exactly best in class but it will do. Mxus45mm up front for comparison.

Pleased to crack open the motor and find a 273mm stator in v2 aluminium with 45mm wide guts.

Clamp ons need about 1.0mm reaming to fit.

I've got a new FOC controller coming. 72v 200 batt amps. Specs seem unbeatable as does the price.

What a great example of how water-jetting or laser-cutting can allow a builder to get fantastic results, even if you only have a garage to work in. Well done!

That should be a beastly machine! Nice work!

You'll want to extend the swingarm to be able to take advantage of the torque potential...and a big-ass controller too, since several hundred amps battery side with less than a 1.5:1 phase/battery current limit ratio is what the motor deserves. I have a 50mm wide with a Kv of about 18rpm/v and had no issues whatsoever pumping 425A battery side 510A phase limits. Well I did have one issue, which was keeping the front down with a much longer wheelbase and weight forward bias. Like LFP said, you'll definitely have a handful with the right controller.

BTW, you said they were cheap. Can you PM me the source?

Heya John, thanks for the advice. Yeah no surprises with the wheelbase issues. I'm a mech eng and am mindful of it.

The qs motors were stripped from a local scooter company's stock when they closed up. I have one that has well worn rims but seems functional if anyone wants. Pm me if so.

Controller wise I have something really special in mind. But too early to spill the beans yet.

Here's a video overview of what these oem level controllers can do.

I like that foc can be invoked at a given speed to increase top speed.

Great Work!! Another step forward in the ES forum.
Thank you for sharing.

That small diameter tire on a hub will work well.
