Jeez dude, porn much?

Sick looking bike, don't click on the picture at work people!

Daaamn those fu..ing ads haha, is there a better photosharing site? photobucket wont work anymore

Do you know that the controller outputs 25kw to the motor which operates at like 60% efficiency most of the time when you pull full throttle right? And samsung 30q cells are cheaper with comparable performance. Otherwise its a great looking build, what do you think about the kls controllers throttle response/linearity/torque controll?

im upgrading to sevcon size6 and zero motor soon.
I can say only one word about the kelly controller: shit

That will be a great upgrade, hope to see a new video soon :) how much battery amps will the sevcon pull? And how do you charge that huge battery? Its better to charge at atleast 1A per cell than lower, you can google more info on this..

I expected that, about kelly. I have the same feeling, but its just software problem. They can make it better just by reflash if they wanted, but as it is its unusable for high power bikes.

You can put 2 of these in series to get over 35A charging in really small package

http://www.ebay.com/itm/272726595117 (I dont know the seller but its really cheap)

they are programmable for lower voltage to get 50.4v x2.

This I gotta watch. Cool build.
What kind of motor and controller combo are you running in this video?

Well I think Peter is running Goldenmotor and Kelly KLS 96601 controller

Very very nice project !! Love it !
What do you think of the 10 KW Golden Motor ?
Do you recommend it for a project like this ?
And had you try the Golden motor controller for this motor ?

Very sick build! Great vid too. Im not sure its 50kw but still sick

Awesome donor bike, i wish i started with a bike like that myself

yes i was running a 10kw goldemotor with kelly but it lacks power, i changed to sevcon size6 and different motor will post some updates soon

Very nice clean build!

Was it hard to program the sevcon? I have read stories about the programming which is very hard to do.

New motor fitted, Its a ME1507 IPM motor, it should handle the 50kw peaks easy :p

Very nice upgrade! 8)

But the info I could find about the ME1507 IPM motor online says: Continuous power: 17kW, Peak power: 44kW (so still not 50kW... )
I do hope you'll update this thread once in a while and maybe even make a ride video when done. Good luck finishing your bike!

Well, if his controller will forward 50kW the bike has 50kW. I think the motor can handle a little bit more power for short!

that motor is crazy! thanks for the pics of the updates...cannot wait to see the test ride

Hi Try-all, I really like the look of your project.. should be awesome to ride once you get it finished.
One comment though: your battery box blocks all direct airflow to the motor, and even the mounting plates enclose the motor to the sides, so there will not be much airflow around the motor. It might be a good idea to cut some holes in the motor mounting plates and arrange scoops or fans to get a bit more cooling effect if you want to ride at high power levels for long.
Admittedly, the mounting plates are bolted directly to the motor and will take some heat from the motor, but in high power builds, keeping the motor cool is one of the challenges.

Keen to see the video when it is running!

You bring up a really good point Drum, I smoked my motor yesterday. My motor is open for air to hit it, but it was also open to the mud and the motor was covered in mud and I think that it encased the heat trapping it from dissipating thru the aluminum fins...

You live you learn!
