14S battery @57.4 V or 15S @ 60V ?

I am building my own packs and I have settled on making them 3s and tieing them together in 12s or 15s.
The reason for this is to have 3s packs that are close to 12volt nominal, which is useful for a lot of things. I have an RC charger that can balance charge 4 packs at the same time, up to 6s so I can balance charge 8 3s packs at the same time.....

The way I see it is I’ll have lots of options and save enough doing this on my own that I can justify buying a Grinn Satiator.....

I do think that charging a 15s pack to 4.0vlts per cell should work.

For range on 14s vs 15s it comes down to watt hrs.
Voltage x amp hours= watt hours
So yes as the voltage AND amp hour capacity increases so does range.

It get a bit more tricky when looking at efficiency and “power”. More voltage produces more power with fewer amps..... a higher voltage system has more “punch” but if the amp hours (fewer cells in parallel ) aren’t there then the voltage will sag quick.

BTW I am going without a BMS, relying on good chargers, the LVC on the controller and watching voltages. By having jst balance ports I can check into the individual cell health.....
