There is a video that I watched that answered about 90% of my questions about them.
I pass this on to you people in the hopes it will be of benefit to you.

If you wish to download the video to watch later, as it is over an hour long.
Then use "4K downloader" [google it] to get it from youtube.
It is 100% free all though they do ask you do donate.

As for safety, the lifepo has even been shot and it is still safe.
I wouldn't want to breathe in the fumes. But at least it won't explode or catch fire.

Other tests like short circuit.

Another puncture video.

And lastly and most importantly. Remember that these are LiFePo4 [Lithium Iron Phosphate] batteries and NOT Lithium Ion or Lithium Cobalt of any other lithium battery.

I hope this helps someone. :D

Yes, Professor Jay Whitacre, classic stuff, thanks for the new link.

Really shreds the old "you must use a BMS" myth.

Just note his background context is powering devices in space, years and years of top notch reliability required.

And LFP will ignite, e.g. runaway charger with no redundant HVC.

Huge unquenchable fireball, in effect a "slow explosion".

It's just **much safer** than the 3.6-3.7V chemistries

maybe safer than lead banks.

But not perfectly safe. . .
