Hi all, long time lurker first time poster,

Maybe a silly question but I’ve looked around and haven’t seen it asked anywhere hence my question

I bought a battery pack from China 14s2p has not been fully charging/ I’ve opened it up and found one of the tabs is not Spot welded at all, would it be ok to spot weld this tab as is with battery fully wired ? I have an MOT spot welder

Thanks in advance

As long as you make sure no inadvertent connections are made between things that ought not be connected, there shouldn't be any problems with this. :)

BTW, a 2p battery, especially a cheap one that isn't even fully welded up ;) , isn't capable of much current (amps), probably 5 or 10A continous, without a lot of voltage sag and cell heating (they usually use the cheapest cells they can get, which may even be recycled from failed packs). Just something to keep in mind when putting it to use once it's fixed. ;)
