Hello, I'm looking for a list of current battery suppliers. I've been out of the "battery game" for about one and a half years and I know things change quickly, and it seems pretty tough to figure who the currently trusted suppliers are by looking through every thread on the forum. So, who are the trusted and reliable suppliers nowadays? Is Ping still a good guy to buy batteries from?

I'm looking for trusted suppliers for...

A123 batteries
Ping batteries
Lipo batteries
TS batteries

And if there are other well known batteries out there, please mention them. Thanks!

You might have a look at the Keling batteries.

I've started a review on this battery, and it is performing just as expected. Reasonable cost.

Thanks tomten.

So, everybody, is ping the only reliable lifepo4 supplier left standing out there?

I remember headways being popular, and we could get those through evcomponents.com in the past (until they closed shop). Who's the source for that nowadays?

Also, any 'sort of official' a123 sources or are we still hacking apart dewalt packs? :)

Also, yeah, lipo can still be acquired through hobbycity.com and they're as reliable as they've ever been.

It'd be kind of cool if the availability of batteries has only gotten better over time, but judging from the replies, it almost seems like it's gotten worse. I really hope that's not the case, especially with the increasing gas prices.

As far as TS http://www.elitepowersolutions.com has been my fav. Quick and low cost honest shipping. TS is good for 2C and 3C is pushing it but the GBS cells seem to put out power more reliably wish less sag is a Lion hybrid mix.

TS Lifepo4 is double the weight of lipo HK lipo for the same WH.

I don't think anyone has complained about anything Cell_man has sold them yet. Fast shipper. Premium product. Good service.

Manzanita Micro has cells.

Evassemble in China also sells Headway cells.

http://www.batteryspace.com/ is also a reliable supplier. They are based in Richmond, CA. I have used their 37V 10Ah Lipo pack with built-in BMS and a few bike lights.

i haver both Ping and Cell-man A123... both very good and reliable.... had a Foxxpower ..too much sag

Just out of curiosity, what are the advantages of Ping over Cell-man's?

Because I thought A123's were also thousands of hours of charge/discharge but a far higher "C" rating than Ping.

I'm interested in either one of them...and since you have both batteries, you'd be the in-field expert to talk to.

Thanks in advance!

my headway battery from http://bmsbattery.com/ has been reliable for 750km so far
their communication isnt very good so id hate to ask for warranty if my battery does stuff up
took quite a while to build and ship the battery but they did make it to the dimensions i wanted and i am very happy with it so far

I can share from recent experience, dealing with Ping directly. He will honor warranty if there is a problem. I am perfectly comfortable recommending him.

+1 for Ping battery.

I got FULL warranty service when i needed to about the 7 battery + charger combo i received. ( i also asked for spare BMS and couples od spare cells and i got them)

I had some problem with the charger and a component in serie with the Ac input to absorb the transien and i had full support from him

Now the 7 battery anc charger work really well ( everything was for my familly ebikes...)

7x 48V 15A battery + 7 x 5A charger.

For 3C rated LiFePo4 battery or lower, THIS is the guy to do business with!!
( All battery are used on a 40A controller and often get burst to 55A and had no prob over the 7 battery)

In sumarry, for those who want 60V or lower voltage setup and 3kW or lower, this is the best solution you can have. No cell to assemble, battery "plug and play" charge, connect and go!

All 7 kit i got do 2500W no problem.

Headways are good batteries, and Headway Headquarters out of WA here in the good ol USofA did a good job for me. Look up JimmieD here on this forum.

I just placed a large (24 X 40160S) along with all the rest for two working 36V packs...... Jim was very helpful, and he returned my phone call right away....

Search returns me a lot of opinions in different threads of this forum.

Was wondering if we can create one that lists all the trusted battery suppliers and the experiences of people that bought from them ?

That's what this thread is titled:

http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=28387

although it is old it has some that are still current.

I'd like to move your thread into that if you don't mind, so they can stay in one place, and the list can be updated.

There are also other threads about trusted/reliable/etc suppliers and manufacturers of ebike parts in general, such as this one
http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6992

Also, I highly recommend that if you have found other recommendations in various threads that you copy them to the list thread, so that others won't have to dig for them later. ;)

EDIT: since no objection was posted, I merged this thread with the other one on the same subject.
