Using DIN Rail Power Supplies as Meanwell Current Limiting

Post by icecube57 » Jun 08 2011 5:39pm

I was cruising through ebay. I was wonder has anyone ever thought about using the small DIN Rail power supplies as chargers or as external current limiting devices.

They are adjustable and feature constant current limiting. Put it in series with your supply and you have a current limited charger with no modifications to the supply.

"Protection type: Constant current limiting, recovers automatically after fault condition is removed"

sounds to me it just shuts down if to much current is pulled and resets when current drops to an acceptable valve. would be ideal if it really functioned with CC if you try one let us know or if any one can confirm they do have a constant current function please chime in.

these are NOT constant current. they will simply shut down.
