that battery was not in the phone. it was carried in the guy's pocket and shorted to catch fire.

How many cell phones are there in use right now? 1 billion or more? Even if there is one fire every single day, it should still be a non-event. That would be 1 over 1 billion incident a day.

How many Hobbyking RC LiCo users on this ES forum? 1,000? How many fires in 2012? Five? Let's say 5 or 0.014 a day for 1,000 users. Add 6 zeros to make 1 billion users and we end up 14,000 incidents a day.

Let's ban cell phone batteries.
