Group LiPO buy?? For New Zealand only..

Having recently had a particularly unsatisfactory experience with HobbyKing, I'm investigating alternatives.

I'm not sure how many Kiwis there are on this forum, who use LiPo, but if there's sufficient interest we could do a group buy of a number of 6S 5200mah 25C bricks.

I've made some enquiries with a supplier and we could land them here (NZ that is) for about NZD $80 (plus GST) (minimum quantity of 10)

A local battery specialist shop has tested them in-house and finds that they are better than Turnigy, Turnigy Nanotech, and Zippy. They now supply them in stead of Gens ACE.

No offense, but there is a long history of group buys gone bad here. Often a shit happens situation rather than deliberate fraud, but then those that fronted money have a big problem when a guy organizing the buy vanishes due to illness, having to move in the divorce, etc.

Buy extra cells, then sell em would be best. If it's that great a deal, sell the cells at a price that covers the cost you incur to borrow to buy them. You also have to factor in the cost of any cells that suck too much to sell.

If you have cells in hand, much better for those that buy them. They get them right away.

you really should just order some from HK now that the shipping crisis is over and they solved the problem that kept them from shipping batteries. but you might have to change your name.
