2.8ah so it could be a sub C or C size. Even old (1990)sub C cells were 1000 - 3000mah.

nimh ?...... The cells in the photo have NiCad printed on them.Those batteries appear to be, what one would find in a emergency florescence ballast to provide temporary lighting. C size NICAD 4500 ma. All the ones i have plucked apart are 2S. That one looks like 3S. The box shown on the right of picture suggest that's what it is.
