i haven't seen this done before so i'm just putting this out there...

this is a greentime BMS. the "bleeding" resistors do get quite hot which would heat up the cells directly below. so i provided a thermal path to the outside case w/ some aluminum and a thermal pad

then it's insulated from the batteries with polyethylene foam

nice work, though I've never seen bleeding resistors (40mA to 60mA) generating too much heat. It only happen when the battery is almost full charged and the balancing circuit activate, could you confirm this?

good idea, but the hot thing on all the bms's I've had is the fets. You could run a hotter bleeding resistor though, if it's heat sinked.

yes that's exactly what happens. the user might leave it charging overnight so i decided to build it this way. to prevent slow-cooking the cells directly under because i intend this pack to last a very loooooong time
