Hello,

I ordered an 10S-16S 50A Lipo BMS System - Battery Management System from https://bmsbattery.com/ and asked for a 14s BMS.
They send me a BMS with 16 wires. Is it oke to just use the first 14 wires, and leave the rest unconnected ?
Sorry for asking here, but i have emailed BMSbattery 3 times and they don't answer.

Thanks

Steven

If you post photo of your BMS, you'll get more accurate answer...

However, almost every BMS has protection installed on negative side of battery/charger/load, so, you can omit most positive cells.
In other words, you have to connect cells from negative side.

Pin B0 goes to negative pole together with B-; of course, wire from minus pole to B- has to be thick enough to handle charging/discharging current...
From minus side of battery, connect from every cell to B1,B2-B13,B14; leave pins B15 and B16 disconnected.
In fact, it is wise to connect B15 and B16 together with B14 (which goes to positive pole of battery pack) in order to avoid activating protection due noise etc...

P- is used for connecting the load (negative side) and CH- is for connecting negative side of the charger.
Positive side of charger and of load goes directly (or through switch and/or fuse) to positive pole of the battery.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for this :)
I had the BMS already connected, except for the 2 last wires.
So far all is working well, but i will reopen the pack to connect the 2 extra wires as you suggested.
