When driving a forklift in the cold months outside in uk its very noticeable there's a power loss the hydraulic pumps have a lower rpm you can here there is less discharge and they go flat in no time, That is an occasion when a better battery is needed cold climates. There are lots of innovation in battery's that can handle higher temps but what about polar exploration most devices fall flat on their face that's were a better battery should be developed discharge well when frozen solid and work in high temp situations whether it be a controlled environment its placed in or the science is robust enough to cycle no matter what the condition.

There's an easy and 100℅ reliable remedy for battery difficulties arising from cold ambient conditions: Don't be in horrible places like that.

The same approach works with many other technical problems too.
This is to express my gratitude to Justin of Grin Technologies for his extraordinary measures to save this forum for the benefit of all.

There's not much you can do about battery performance in cold conditions: it's the Arrhenius Effect in play.

Put a heater on the battery.

After a little read on it seems the best way to avoid the cold is by placing the cell in a controlled environment give it more capacity than needed so it can maintain its temperature with heating elements in a highly insulated area like a flask, but that then would be suitable for cold environments so it would need venting or it would overheat closer to the equator no doubt.

I've seen lifepo4 cells aroundd but like mentioned there's a few fakes floating around and the proper ones are expensive in the UK shipping has gone crazy I ordered 5 lipos and they all arrived in the same box all 750wh of them but ship from abroad big no no lots of money please sir, so just because they not linked the fire won't spread lmao its all keeping the small man small very poor options in the UK for a battery build even leaf cells are gold dust. £4000 a pack no individual cells available. All because large company's have the monopoly board and all the community chest cards.
