Want to make a 12v starter battery for motorcycle, for fun.
Starter motor can draw 200A (CCA in sla terms). 100A is enough to start engine, so I am aiming at 100A to keep cost below $60-80 in total. I want reliable lifepo4. Seem like 4s1p A123 cells peaking 100A is most reliable choice. They are $12 each. Hobbyking zippy lifepo4 looks tempting but seem unreliable according to reviews. If you have better suggestion please let me know.

Question:
If I choose a 100A capable BMS, is my batteries safe (assuming 10s burst)?
What specific BMS would be a suiting choice? Found lots on ebay and Aliexpress but I am a bit lost. I know I need balancing feature.
