I have decided on pursuing a spot welder for my battery builds. What are the views about the alternatives for this in the $200 range of options for this need? Kweld? JP Spot Welder? Chinese? Which ones perform on not only nickel but copper. I have studied most of these but would like the end users input on these options ...or others if they are out there. Thanks, RH

I have tried 2 chinese and this one i have used for more then 2 dozen batteries so far. Only add a 40ish Ah car battery.

no, no need for it so far. but i dont have many doubts it can do it with the right battery behind it. it can burn a hole in 0.3 nickel.

it also depends on the leads you have. welding copper is really hard if you use copper electrodes. usually you will just melt the tips to the pie you are trying to weld. you need tungsten or something from a tig welder to prevent that.
