Two weeks ago I purchased a 52v 14ah 14s4p battery (from China - UnitPackPower) as part of a TDSZ2 commuter build. The batteries were advertised as Panasonic/Sanyo 18650GA.

The battery arrived today and I thought I would just check the contents to ensure they are what was advertised.

These batteries have a 'Made in China' label. I had heard that Panasonic are made in Japan. Can anyone advise if these are likely to be Panasonic/Sanyo, or if the seller has advertised falsely?

Sanyo

Thanks to you all for your replies and link to other thread. It appears I don't need to be concerned re the battery authenticity.

i have some reservations about this. i have about 400 original GA cells here from nkon, wich i am 100% confident they have the real deal and i buy them in their original cartons in their carboard boxes:

backdrop is 1 half of a battery i am building and extends another 20cm up....

these cells are 100% genuine. note that they dont have any markings, only a small QR code with the factory run coding on under the red film wrap.
the pic you showed looks like they copied the markings of a PF or B cell and put GA on it. but the text seems just ever so slighty "off". can also be the potato quality.

here is a genuine PF:

note the coding under the foil:

also, having different color wraps is EXTREMELY strange for these high end cells. i never ever have seen differences in color from wildly different batches.

if you read the barcode you can see it is a original box with all the factory coding on it.

I think the one very different color one just has a piece of kapton take over it... And when you zoom in it has the faint qr under the lable too.

Where do you live and how long did it take for batteries to arrive?

A quick google image search shows GA cells with text, without and more than one different type of text as well.

i live 20 minutes from nkon, so it took me 45 minutes to get the cells on my desk after ordering them.

there are different versions, yes. but that does not change the fact that the cells in the pictures have different shades of red wrap, usually a trigger for me. also the bulk packaging does not seem to have labels on them and why would a chinese factory buy the consumer labeled ones when the OEM version is cheaper to buy...
