I have two 18650 36V, 4400mah, 158.4Wh packs that I run in parallel on two different ebikes with two different motors. When I run it with a cyclone 500w 36v it gives me significant acceleration and speed. When I run it on a Crystalyte DD hub motor with a CT3625S controller the motor has virtually no power from start up and very little at speed. Why?

Ottomh.... Without thinking about it too much....
What amps can those little batteries supply?
I'm assuming the cyclone is a mid-drive?
The controllers are different-so what's their current limiting-is that 25amps for the hubby?
The crystalite DD will want to suck big amps on start up, much more so than the cyclone, so I'm tipping that it's not getting enough amps to produce the torque to get you moving. And 36v for a DD hub will be pretty lousy for top speed usually. If it was a really fast wind maybe, but with poor amps it'd be slow to get there.
Big DD hubs kick butt when you give them enough juice otherwise they can be sluggish.
But I could be completely wrong

DD's need massive phase amps in order to get decent acceperation. your puny 25A controller and batteries simply cant deliver.
