Hi,

I've search high and low for an answer but have yet to find one so I'm going to have to ask for a little bit of help... please :)

I bought a 709A battery welder with the intention of using it with the welding pen but it doesn't want to weld the negative end of the battery using the recommended settings (or any settings I try) of 4P+8P @ 7~8 using 0.15x8x100mm pure nickel strip. The positive end of the battery welds really well using the same settings and so does welding two bits of the same strip together.

If I use the recommended settings with the fixed welding head it welds both ends of the battery just fine.

The cells are reclaimed from old laptop batteries.

Anyone able to offer any help?

Thanks

If it works with one set but not the other, then either pressure is insufficient or inconsistent with the one that's not working, or current flow is too low or too slow (excess resistance or inductance).
