BMS Replacement

Howdy,

I have a panasonic 48v battery that I accidentally submerged in a drain full of water due to a crash. The voltage on the cells is still cool but the BMS crapped itself.

So I bought a replacement BMS hoping that I could just solder up and plug in (the white plug with all the wires). Unfortunately, I cannot just use the existing white plug because the configuration is different.

So what am I to do? I am thinking there are three options but need advice:
1. Splice all the new wires to the old wires?
2. Join each of the new wires to the old tabs?
3. Buy all new tabs and work out how to remove the old tabs and weld on the new tabs?

Any advice on these options would be great and any other advice is most welcome!

Cheers

What I did, faced with similar BMS swap, was to splice the wires on the new plug to the old ones. Easy to do, one at a time, so nothing gets mixed up. Added 1/2" of heat shrink for protection. That way, I could leave the cells wrapped up.

Agree with last post splice sense wires together ( sliding shrink on first out of way).
DVM to check wire order first on battery pack just to make sure.
