Hi

I’m planning the build of an electric conversion of an Aprilia RS50 moped using a QS Motor 17” hub motor.

I’ve been offered a couple of these 36v 30AH Lifepo4 packs, which I would be running in series to give me 72v 30AH.

I need to be able to run at 60A continuous for periods of acceleration, and understand these packs have a BMS which only does balancing of the cells, no voltage checking min or max etc.

Does anyone have experience of using these Lifepo4 packs in EV projects? I’ve been told the cells can do 10C (so in theory 300A for the pack) but I doubt they could do that for any length of time before breaking.

I’m also told you can charge the combined 72v set up using a standard Lifepo4 charger but again it’s not clear how that would work in terms of potential over charging given the BMS set up in these.

Any views from anyone on here - they are going at a good price which is a bit worrying in itself?
